Your role will involve food preparation and assisting(cooking), following Kids & Company standards to align with our mission statement.\nWe are currently hiring a On-Call Kitchen Assistant in our Langley Location.\nResponsibilities\nAssist with meal and snack portioning, and delivery to classrooms, ensuring food is distributed safely and on time.\nAssist with food preparation tasks such as fruit preparation, and other kitchen support duties as assigned.\nPrepare and organize meal service supplies, including bins, serving materials, and delivery carts.\nCollect dishes, utensils, and meal service equipment from classrooms.\nWash, rinse, sanitize, and properly store dishes, utensils, serving equipment, and food trolleys in accordance with food safety standards.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen by cleaning work areas, equipment, storage areas, and meal service items.\nAssist with organizing, storing, and rotating food products, kitchen supplies, and inventory.\nFollow all food safety, sanitation, allergy-awareness, and workplace health and safety requirements.\nWork collaboratively with the Cook and Centre Director to support efficient kitchen operations.\nPerform other related duties as required to support the overall operation of the kitchen.\nWhat you need\nAVAILABILITY: Monday to Friday ( As needed!)\nWORK SCHEDULE: 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (If Needed)\n2+ years of experience in a Kitchen Assistant role.\nHigh School diploma or GED required.\nCurrent Food Handler Certification, or willingness to obtain it.\nExperience in a daycare environment is an asset.\nValid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract.\nStrong communication skills.\nA clean criminal record check is required.\nPhysical ability to lift, push, and pull up to minimum 50 pounds.\nWhat we offer\nRecognition for your hard work, dedication, and contribution.\nOpportunities for career development and advancement in a positive and supportive environment.\nKids & Company is committed to providing accommodation to persons with disabilities so that they may pursue employment opportunities in a similar way to other applicants.
