We are seeking a hands-on Service Reliability Engineer (SRE) to improve service reliability, performance, and operational excellence across our connected services platform. You will work closely with backend engineering teams (primarily Java/Spring Boot) to build automation, ensure observability, operate AWS cloud workloads, drive incident management, and maintain high service availability for millions of Toyota customers across Europe.\nKey Responsibilities:\nPartner with product teams to define and enforce SLIs, SLOs, for backend microservices.\n\nImprove reliability of a diverse microservices ecosystem (Java/Spring Boot, Python, Node.js).\n\nOptimize system performance: latency, throughput, memory/GC tuning, JVM diagnostics.\n\nDrive resilience patterns (circuit breakers, retries, graceful degradation).\n\nBuild deep observability using Datadog (primary): metrics, logs, traces, synthetics, RUM, APM.\n\nTriage and restore service during incidents; ensure proactive communication.\n\nConduct post-incident reviews, root cause analysis, and track long-term remediations.\n\nOperate backend services across EKS and ECS\n\nManage AWS components: API Gateway, Lambda, ECS, EKS, RDS, IAM, S3, VPC, CloudWatch, ALB/NLB.\n\nWork with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI)\n\nBuild tooling and automation using Python and/or shell.\n\nOperate and troubleshoot MSSQL/SQL and MongoDB (replica sets, indexes, PITR).\n\nEnsure backup/restore reliability, failover, performance tuning.\n\nFormal Role Details:\nLocation: Wrocław, Plac Konstytucji 3 Maja 3\nEmployment Type: Permanent\nWorking Pattern: Hybrid -2 to 3 days per week in the office, with flexibility for travel to Head Office in Brussels\n Language Requirements: Professional proficiency in English is essential.\n\nQualifications & Skills:\n3+ years as a Service Reliability Engineer,\n\nStrong hands-on experience with Java + Spring Boot (core backend for MyToyota).\n\nGood proficiency in Python or another backend programming language.\n\nKnowledge of AWS services, including EKS, ECS, IAM, VPC, RDS, S3, and API Gateway.\n\nHands-on experience with Datadog (APM, Logs, Dashboards, SLOs, RUM, and Synthetic Monitoring).\n\nDocker & Kubernetes\n\nSQL & NoSQL:\n\nMSSQL or other SQL dialects\n\nMongoDB (indexes, replica sets, perf tuning)\n\nCI/CD pipelines: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI.\n\nKnowledge about queues & messaging (SQS/SNS, Kafka).\n\nBasic Linux and networking fundamentals (HTTP, TLS, DNS, load balancing).\n\nAdditional Requirements:\nPrevious Experience in the automotive industry\n\nYou have a TOYOTA DNA, this means:\nCourage:you are ready to let go of the easy path to reach challenging targets \nCreativity:your passion drives you to explore innovative ideas and challenge the impossible \nCoaching:you share knowledge and feedback with your colleagues and celebrate each other's success \nCuriosity:you are open for new experience and able to combine imagination with fact-based observation \nCollaboration:you are a team player, respectful and inclusive in your style and you take a customer-oriented approach \nWhat we can offer you:\nDepending on the candidate’s skills and experience, the base salary for this position will be in the range of PLN 12 000 - 18 000 gross per month under a permanent employment contract (employment contract/UoP). \nBenefits & Bonuses:\nAnnual Bonus\nHealth insurance \nSport card \nLunch subsidy \nCar leasing \nLanguages lessons\nHow to Join Us?\n1.
