As one of North America’s largest independent manufacturers of consumer products, KIK helps a large portfolio of brands and retailers bring their products to life.\nYour Role at KIK\nWe are seeking a Forklift Operator on 1st shift at our Santa Fe Springs, CA facility with shift hours being Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm PST, with overtime, weekend, or extended shifts as business needs require. This person supports three production lines connected by conveyors - unloading trailers, supplying the lines, and staging inventory to warehouse standards - and works alongside the production operator to bring in materials, review quality documentation, and verify that quantities are scanned correctly against the work order. Reporting to the Team Leader, the Forklift Operator helps keep product flowing safely and accurately through the facility and is accountable for the quality of every unit placed into a customer's shipper.\nThe pay for this role is $22.28 per hour. This position is a union position with Teamsters Local 986.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nSafely operate forklift and material handling equipment.\nSupply production lines and stage inventory according to warehouse standards.\nBring in materials, review quality documentation, and verify that production quantities are scanned correctly against the work order, correcting discrepancies before the end of the shift.\nPerform inventory functions including but not exclusive to cycle counts, physical inventory, and product checks.\nLoad and receive materials from trailers.\nLoad, store, and move materials in and out of racking.\nPerform the loading documentation process in accordance with Hazmat rules.\nOperate and use the plant's warehouse management system/RFID.\nPerform packing/quality checks and documentation as required.\nHand stack palletized product and perform rework during production downtime as necessary to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.\nBe responsible for the final quality of every unit that is placed into a customer's shipper. If unsure of the quality standard required, check with the Team Leader before packing questionable product.\nBe responsible for safety and housekeeping in the immediate work area. Help to clean and report any unsafe conditions to your Team Leader or Supervisor.\nParticipate in Continuous Improvement activities.\nComply with Good Manufacturing Practices, Standard Operating Procedures, Safety Standards, and follow all plant policies and procedures.\nOther related duties as assigned.\nWhat You’ll Bring\n2 or more years of forklift experience required; (5 or more years preferred)\nExperience on any forklift type (sit-down, stand-up, or reach); cross-training on other equipment types provided on the job\nRF scanner experience preferred\nMust be able to safely operate the forklift around co-workers, other forklifts, and mechanical and electrical equipment for up to 12 hours\nAble to visually concentrate, remain alert, and listen intensely for extended periods of time\nAble to stand, sit, lift, bend, crouch, reach and climb consistently for twelve hours\nAble to grasp and manipulate a variety of packaging components (i.e. sprayers, bottles, caps)\nMust be able to lift 45 lbs. from floor to shoulder level\nMust be able to read, write and speak English\nMust be able to work in accordance with Health and Safety and GMP regulations\nMust be able to work overtime, weekends, or extended shifts where necessary\nPossibility of working around unpleasant odors\nWorking in a non-temperature-controlled environment, including high temperatures and humidity for extended periods of time\nPossibility of working around high noise levels, depending on location\nConstant interaction with a variety of chemicals and chemical products\nWhat You Will Get\nKIK offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits including health, wellness, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
