You will respond quickly to production disruptions, perform first-line troubleshooting, and partner closely with maintenance to keep equipment running, while upholding strong safety, quality, and GMP standards and keeping accurate production records. The role also supports setup, changeovers, cleaning, and batching processes for the line. This is an opportunity for an experienced operator who is ready to take the next step in leadership while remaining hands-on with production equipment, with direct influence on safety, quality, reliability, and line performance.\nShift: The permanent assignment for this position is 3rd shift, 10:00 p.m. - 6:30 a.m., Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays based on business needs. Training lasts approximately 6-8 weeks and takes place on 1st or 2nd shift depending on the line being worked (1st shift: 6:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. or 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.; 2nd shift: 4:00 p.m. - 2:30 a.m.).\nThe move to 3rd shift is expected to begin in January or February, depending on when the lines return to operation. Candidates must be flexible to work 1st or 2nd shift until then and able to commit to 3rd shift long term.\nThis position has an hourly rate of $27.63 per hour.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nServe as the Level 3 lead operator overseeing filling operations during the shift, including line manning and scheduling.\n\nTake ownership of day-to-day line execution and respond quickly to production disruptions.\n\nProvide day-to-day direction to operators and help keep the shift organized and production moving safely and efficiently.\n\nOperate, monitor, and adjust filling equipment to meet production targets and quality specifications.\n\nIdentify mechanical needs, perform first-line troubleshooting within the operator’s scope, and escalate maintenance issues appropriately.\n\nEnsure proper setup, changeovers, and cleaning of the line.\n\nVerify product weights, fill levels, and packaging integrity to meet quality standards.\n\nMaintain strong safety and quality standards, including compliance with GMP and regulatory requirements; recognize unsafe conditions and take the proper corrective action.\n\nCollaborate with maintenance and line team on repairs and improvements.\n\nTrain and mentor operators on equipment operation and best practices.\n\nMaintain accurate production records; complete and review production documentation, logs, and reports.\n\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce waste.\n\nMonitor line and team documents on all Quality-related items (Hourly updates on production boards, Component verification to ensure correct product is produced, Bottle and label visual inspection for accurate packaging of product, verifying date code labeling, etc.\n\nCommunicate clearly with operators, supervisors, management, maintenance, and other supporting teams regarding machine problems and quality requirements.\n\nSupport all changeover requirements of commodity products (changing caps, line clearance, assisting mechanics with changeovers)\n\nOperating a continuous blending / batching process for products for the line.\n\nCarefully follow detailed procedures to complete the batching process.\n\nPerform mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, and division.\n\nSafely handle various chemicals used in the batching process.\n\nMake tank switches and understand & execute the valve change process.\n\nComplete appropriate paperwork as required.\n\nPerform quality checks such as titration, filter testing, water hardness testing, and product testing.\n\nFollow guidelines for wastewater treatment.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\nHigh school degree or GED equivalent required\nStrong hands-on manufacturing and machine-operation experience\nStrong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills\nAbility to recognize unsafe conditions and take the proper corrective action\nAbility to prioritize issues and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production environment\nStrong communication, teamwork, reliability, and attention to quality\nAbility to provide day-to-day direction to operators and support safe execution of the production plan\nAbility to work in fast-paced and always changing environment\nAbility to follow detailed instructions\nAbility to work safely\nMust be able to work in a chemical environment (bleach, ammonia)\nPreferred: Experience with fillers, case packers, cappers, case sealers, palletizers, or labelers\nPreferred: Previous experience as a lead operator or in a similar manufacturing leadership role (2 years leading and/or supervising in a manufacturing warehouse environment is highly preferred)\nPreferred: Experience training or mentoring operators and supporting continuous improvement\nWhat You Will Get\nKIK offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits including health, wellness, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
