In this role you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of machinery and equipment. Responsibilities include inspecting, testing and monitoring equipment, conducting repairs and replacements. You’ll be a key contributor to the success of our plant. Bring your expertise and tools to a dynamic environment that values efficiency, safety, and continuous improvement. This position has an hourly rate of $34-$36.\nWhat You’ll Do\nIndependently identify, diagnose, and repair equipment issues within the assigned area with minimal supervision.\nTroubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical, electrical, and basic automation-related equipment.\nDiagnose mechanical equipment breakdowns and provide timely, practical solutions using skills in mechanics, fitting, plumbing, basic welding, metal fabrication, machining, and analytical problem solving.\nTroubleshoot, repair, install, maintain, and improve machinery and equipment in the processing and packaging departments, including bottling and filling equipment, gantry palletizers, conveyors, pumps, and related systems.\nPerform general electrical repairs, including wire connections, relays, photo-eyes, solenoids, motors, and variable-speed drives. Safely work with 120V to 480V systems, use a multimeter, and read electrical schematics.\nTroubleshoot and support PLC-controlled equipment and control systems, including Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms. Use PLC interfaces, HMIs, and SCADA systems to interpret alarms, monitor equipment conditions, identify root causes, and restore safe operation.\nThis role is not responsible for PLC programming or modifying control logic. Collaborate effectively with Engineering, Controls, and Operations personnel to diagnose and resolve control-system issues.\nPerform maintenance, inspection, and repair of equipment used in the unloading, transfer, and processing of chlorine railcars and associated chemical-processing systems.\nTroubleshoot and maintain instrumentation, valves, piping systems, pumps, automated controls, and related equipment supporting chlorine handling and processing.\nPartner with Operations, Engineering, Production, Quality, and HESS to support safe, compliant, and efficient chemical-processing operations.\nPerform preventive maintenance, safety inspections, and emergency repairs; document planned and emergency work accurately in the CMMS.\nModify, repair, install, and troubleshoot conveyor systems, including roller, belt, Intralox, gravity, chain, and plate conveyor types.\nDiagnose, rebuild, troubleshoot, and replace various types of pumps.\nSet up, take down, relocate, and modify processing and packaging equipment to support production needs and new products.\nUse general shop tools and fabrication equipment, including grinders, saws, presses, lathes, and mills.\nFollow all Company requirements for Good Manufacturing Practices, lockout/tagout, confined space, hazard communication, personal protective equipment, chemical exposure response, and site-specific environmental, health, and safety procedures.\nPromptly respond to equipment issues in a professional, customer-oriented manner and communicate clearly with affected teams.\nSafely lift, twist, carry, push, or pull up to 45 pounds; work in temperature-controlled and non-temperature-controlled environments; and work around elevated noise levels as required.\nWear required personal protective equipment, including a full-face respirator, when assigned work requires it.\nFollow all Company safety requirements and applicable environmental, health, safety, electrical, and chemical-handling regulations, including lockout/tagout, confined space, hazard communication, and exposure-response procedures.\nThrough KIK, successfully complete and maintain required HazWhopper training and Incident Response to support this process and the Operators of this process, KIK internal chlorine training, and respirator fit testing.\nServe as an active site First Responder for chemical or other emergency incidents and participate in related drills, response activities, and equipment-readiness requirements.\nWhat You’ll Bring\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.\nTwo or more years of mechanical maintenance experience in a high-speed packaging, manufacturing, chemical-processing, or similar industrial environment required. Food, consumer products, or chemical manufacturing experience preferred.\nDemonstrated experience working with PLC-controlled systems, such as Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar platforms, and the ability to troubleshoot PLC-based equipment and control systems.\nAbility to interpret ladder logic, respond to equipment alarms, and use HMI or SCADA interfaces to support troubleshooting. PLC programming experience is not required.\nExperience working in or supporting hazardous chemical environments; chlorine handling, railcar unloading, chemical transfer, or chemical-processing experience is strongly preferred.\nStrong understanding of process-safety practices, including lockout/tagout, confined space, hazard communication, personal protective equipment, and chemical exposure-response procedures.\nWorking knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, conveyor, pump, and process equipment maintenance.\nExperience using a CMMS to document maintenance work, equipment history, and follow-up actions.\nStrong communication, interpersonal, time-management, organization, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage changing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.\nPhysical Capabilities\nOccasionally exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force (up to 1/3 of the time).\nFrequently applying 10 to 25 pounds of force (from 1/3 to 2/3 of the time).\nRegularly required to handle objects weighing up to 10 pounds throughout the shift (2/3 or more of the time) for moving objects. \nMust have the ability to perform the following: Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Handling\nMust be able to visually inspect parts and hear audible alarms and equipment signals, with or without accommodation\nWhat You Will Get\nKIK offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits including health, wellness, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
