This is not a remote position.\nResponsibilities\nThis position provides an opportunity to work on a variety of building projects that will ensure your success and growth in your career. Additionally, you will contribute to the design of major projects from various markets locally and around the country.\nDesign of electrical systems including low and medium voltage power distribution, stand-by generation, interior/exterior lighting for buildings, local area IT networks, access control, security, and fire alarm systems\nParticipate on project teams in an active production role\nPreparation of project specifications\nPreparation of electrical construction cost estimates\nDaily interaction and collaboration on cross-functional teams across multiple disciplines\nCoordination and verification of as-built drawings\nPerform quality work that promotes client retention\nResponsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical floor plans, equipment schematic diagrams, equipment block diagrams, equipment load calculations, and connection diagrams\nYou will work closely and collaboratively with other industry leading professionals, various jurisdictions, and contractors on multiple project types including:Office\nResidential Highrise\nMixed-use/ Retail\nMuniciple\nHospitality\nTransportation\nIndustrial/Manufacturing\nSustainability/ Decarbonization\n\nQualifications\n5+ years of experience in electrical engineering\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (advanced degrees are a plus)\nProfessional Engineer license preferred \nFirm understanding of the National Electrical Code, other NFPA codes/standards, and energy codes\nProficiency using Computer-Aided Design and Drafting (AutoCAD)\nBuilding Information Modeling (BIM - Autodesk Revit) experience is a plus\nElectrical power, lighting, and fire alarm design experience\nSuperior verbal and written communication skills\nThe ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively\nThe ability to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment\nWhy Kimley-Horn?\nAt Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
