This is not a remote position.\nResponsibilities\nLead the design of electrical systems including renewable generation, energy storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, building electrical, and battery storage projects\nPerform design on a wide variety of projects, such as photometrics and lighting, power distribution, EV charging, and more\nResponsible for the development of design documents and reports, including electrical layouts, equipment schematics and block diagrams, electrical system calculations, and one-line diagrams\nDaily interaction and collaboration on multi-disciplinary teams, with interaction across Kimley-Horn offices\nPrepare project specifications, electrical construction cost estimates, and proposals, supporting the growth of electrical engineering service areas in the local market and across the country\nExpected to assist in mentoring, training, and growing a team to expand our Renewable Energy practice\nResponsible for the development of reports and design documents, including electrical design plans, EV charging infrastructure, equipment selection, solar system sizing, and power analyses\nQualifications\n4+ years experience in an Electrical Engineering role\nProfessional Engineering (P.E.) License (or ability to obtain within 12 months)\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering \nUnderstanding of the National Electrical Code, National Electrical Safety Code, IEEE and ANSI Standards\nWillingness to travel to support site visits and client meetings, as needed\nAbility to work in a team; both collaborating with and mentoring junior staff\nPreferredExperience in utility-scale PV, MEP, HVAC, wind generation, energy storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, microgrid, substation, or data center designs\nExperience in engineering project management\nProficiency in AutoCAD\nExperience in power system analysis using SKM, ETAP, or equivalent\nExperience in transient studies using PSCAD, EMTP-RV, or equivalent\nExperience in lighting designs and photometrics using AGI32, or equivalent\nComfortable programming in Python or MATLAB\n\nWhy Kimley-Horn?\nAt Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
