This is a leadership opportunity for a seasoned professional who thrives on delivering complex municipal infrastructure, advancing corridor design solutions, and partnering with public agencies to shape safe, efficient, and sustainable transportation networks.\nAt Kimley-Horn, we empower our teams with a culture of ownership, collaboration, and long-term growth, giving you the platform to lead meaningful infrastructure projects while building strong client relationships.\nResponsibilities\nLead the infrastructure that moves the GTA\nPublic Sector Corridor & Roadway Leadership\nLead the delivery of municipal and regional roadway corridor projects, including:\nComplete streets and urban corridor redesigns\nRoad widening, reconstruction, and rehabilitation projects\nIntersection improvements and safety upgrades\nGuide projects from functional planning through detailed design, including corridor studies, environmental coordination, and implementation strategies\nDevelop innovative, context-sensitive solutions balancing mobility, safety, transit, and active transportation needs\nDesign & Technical Oversight\nOversee preparation and review of:\nCorridor plans, geometric design, and cross-sections\nIntersection design and access management strategies\nDesign reports, technical memoranda, and construction packages\nEnsure compliance with Ontario standards and guidelines, including:\nMunicipal and regional design criteria (City of Toronto, GTA regions)\nMTO standards and applicable provincial guidance\nCoordinate across disciplines (drainage, utilities, signals, streetscape, structures interface)\nClient & Stakeholder Engagement\nServe as a trusted advisor to municipal and public sector clients, including cities, regions, and agencies\nLead and participate in client meetings, technical reviews, and stakeholder consultations\nSupport collaboration with approval bodies and agencies to advance projects efficiently\nProject & Team Leadership\nManage project scope, budgets, schedules, and deliverables\nProvide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff\nContribute to internal quality control and elevate delivery standards across the team\nBusiness Development & Practice Growth\nSupport pursuits, proposals, and client development efforts within the public sector market\nHelp grow Kimley-Horn’s transportation engineering presence in Toronto and across the GTA\nStrengthen long-term relationships with municipal clients and partners\nQualifications\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (transportation focus preferred)\n10+ years of experience in roadway design and corridor delivery, with a strong public sector focus\nDemonstrated experience delivering projects for municipal and/or provincial clients in Ontario\nProven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage complex infrastructure projects\nStrong communication and stakeholder engagement skills\nPreferred\n Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) licensed with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO)\nExperience with complete streets, multimodal corridor planning, and urban roadway design\nFamiliarity with GTA municipal processes and standards\nExperience supporting or leading projects through environmental assessment (EA) processes\nProficiency with roadway design tools and CAD-based production workflows\nWhy Kimley-Horn?\nAt Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
