This role provides an exciting opportunity for a driven and entrepreneurial professional to support a practice focused on Transmission and Distribution. The successful candidate will possess strong technical expertise and will guide initiatives from project inception through delivery. This position is in-office/in-person.\nResponsibilities\nLeadership and Growth:\nSupport the growth in our Power Delivery practice.\nServe as a mentor and leader to develop junior staff and create a positive and collaborative work culture.\nBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, including local utility companies, developers, and industry stakeholders.\nSupport the firm’s mission of operating with integrity, honesty, and sound business principles.\nTechnical and Project Management:\nDirect and oversee technical work for Power Delivery projects, including:\nTransmission and Distribution Design (Overhead and Underground)\nEnsure compliance with industry standards and regulations, such as NESC, IEEE, NERC, GO, and local utility standards.\nLead the preparation of technical deliverables, such as engineering plans, specifications, and reports.\nAssist with permitting and coordinating with regulators for timely project approvals.\nUse technical tools such as AutoCAD, PLS-CADD Design Suite, MFAD, CAISSON, SAG10, LPile for design and analysis.\nOperational Excellence:\nManage projects profitably and ensure efficient use of resources and staffing.\nOversee and enforce quality control practices to exceed client expectations.\nEffectively coordinate with internal interdisciplinary teams to deliver seamless solutions.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or related Engineering field (Master’s preferred).\nCalifornia Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred.\nA minimum of 4+ years of experience in Power Delivery (transmission, substation, power studies/design, or related fields).\nDemonstrated business development experience, including proposal writing and building strong client networks.\nStrong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead project teams, engage stakeholders, and represent the firm positively.\nExperience in mentoring and managing other professionals, with a proven ability to build high-performing teams.\nEntrepreneurial mindset with a results-oriented approach to growing a practice.\nSalary Range:\n$115,000 to $135,000\nWhy Kimley-Horn?\nAt Kimley-Horn, we do things differently.
