Our valued team members are the heart of our mission and their well-being directly impacts the lives of those in our care.\nAdmissions (Move-In) Coordinator reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for providing orientation, informal education, and support to new residents, families, and friends to promote a sense of comfort and well-being, as well as overall empowerment among individuals.\nWage Rate:\nThe starting annual salary is $50,000.\nVacancy:\nThis is an existing vacancy.\nResponsibilities:\nAct as the Home Resident Placement Coordinator \nCommunicate with Home and Community Care on a daily basis to share available beds. \nComplete the admissions application information documentation. \nSchedule and conduct tours. \nDisplay a sense of spontaneity and ability to change the moment positively for people \nCheck residents' rooms prior to move-in in, coordinate maintenance/housekeeping to ensure the room is ready prior to the Resident's arriving. \nExit interviews to be completed with discharged families/residents.\nPresents a positive approach, not controlling language and actions towards people\nParticipate in admission day conference led by Social Work \nComplete residents' business files by the end of admission day \nContact resident/family prior to admission to ensure that have information gathered to complete the business file as per Genesis\nWork with residents/families on the waiting list to ensure information is gathered to complete the business file. \nSupport families, friends, and supporters of people experiencing dementia balancing this with the promotion of a person-centered approach to individuals.\nCommunicate with PGT regarding admission status of new admission and set up the payment process. \nEnsure collections policy is employed when new admission is not making payment within 3 days of admission following Genesis policy. \nRequired to understand the nature and meaning of quality indicators used by the Home \nAny and all other tasks as assigned\nQualifications:\nThe qualifications needed to join our family are as follows:\nHigh School Diploma.\nSSW certification\nPrevious experience in a geriatric social-related field is an asset. \nExperience with EHR preferred \nWell-developed interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact efficiently and courteously with residents, public, employees, and volunteers. \nAbility to work from the heart and make others smile.\nRegistered with the college annually. \nExcellent written and verbal communication skills. \nGood organizational skills.\nA second language is an asset.\nClear vulnerable sector screening (w/ in last 6 months), recent TB test results (w/ in last 6 months) or Chest X-Ray (w/ in last 1 yr), and two supervisory references are required.\nWhat do we offer you?\nCompetitive wages\nEmployee perks\nSupport for personal and professional growth\nEmployee benefits (only included if specific to the role)\nEmployee and Family Assistance Program (only included if specific to the role)\nMatching RRSP contribution (only included if specific to the role)\nMedication training provided (only included if specific to the role)\nWe appreciate all applicants' interest, only those selected for further consideration will be contacted.\nAs part of our recruitment process, we may use secure, limited AI tools to assist with administrative tasks such as organizing applications or analyzing role alignment.
