You will be responsible for end to end development on the data platform, including test development, to ensure continued service delivery versus expectations.\nYou will have understanding of all engineering stages for a data platform by providing an end-to-end, full stack data expertise from design to build. You will be a member of the team, helping to develop and mentor junior members as well as input into design and architectural decisions.\nResponsibilities\nResponsible for providing direction to data engineers working on the data platform, including best practices, review and testing processes\nProvide engineering support as required to the data engineering resource within the delivery squads\nResponsible for ensuring we have the right data engineering resource on the programme, and they are properly onboarded and mentored\nUpdate job knowledge by studying state-of-the-art tools, programming techniques, and computing equipment and by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organisations\nProvide information by collecting, analysing, and summarising development and service issues\nSupport and develop data engineers by providing advice, coaching, and educational opportunities\nWhat you'll bring\nSkills & Experience\nStrong engineering background and proven experience in developing and maintaining large-scale distributed data processing systems or equivalent expertise.\nExtensive knowledge of data modelling principles, data quality assurance, testing methodologies, and best practices for data access and storage.\nStrong command of data scripting languages within our data ecosystem, including Python, SQL, and PySpark.\nExperience with Azure Databricks and DBT for building and optimising data pipelines and workflows.\nExperience in implementing cloud data solutions on at least one major cloud provider (Azure, AWS, or GCP)\nKnowledge around shortening development lead time and improving data development lifecycle\nFamiliarity with Agile
