You'll be responsible for system diagnostics, controls upgrades, PLC programming, commissioning activities, customer support, and continuous improvement initiatives across our customer sites.\nThis is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting complex systems, working directly with customers, and delivering innovative automation solutions in mission-critical environments.\nHours of Work: Monday to Friday\nOn Call Roster: approximately 10 weeks per annum\nTasks and Qualifications:\nWHAT YOU WILL BE WORKING ON\nProviding second level technical support to maintenance team as required\n\nParticipate in the On-Call after hours support roster\n\nConformance to OHS&E standards in the design and execution of all work\n\nPrepare/assist with budget costing and quoting\n\nDevelopment of functional specifications\n\nComplete regular system diagnostics and analysis procedures and provide customer reports\n\nPreparation of PLC programs and configuration of SCADA and PLC-related equipment e.g. HMI’s, Scanners, Roller drive-cards and VSD’s\n\nReport on designed/installed equipment which is not performing to the design specifications\n\nTesting and commissioning systems on site\n\nPreparation of test plans and operator & technical manuals\n\nTraining client personnel and providing customer support\n\nAssist with interstate or some overseas projects when required\n\nSETTING YOU UP FOR SUCCESS\nDegree qualified: engineering or scientific discipline or electrical trade with tertiary qualifications in the areas of engineering /electronics/mechatronics\n\nElectrical trades licence qualification is highly regarded\n\nKnowledge of configuration, programming and commissioning of PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred), variable speed drives, barcode scanners and safety devices\n\nKnowledge of SCADA applications like ICONICS, CITEC and WINCC\n\nKnowledge of materials handling system controls is highly desirable such as conveyors and sortation\n\nAbility to work without supervision and guide teams/projects\n\nExcellent verbal and written communication\n\nElectrical trades licence qualification is highly regarded\n\nFlexibility to travel interstate, regional areas and overseas\n\nWHY BRING YOUR CAREER TO DEMATIC\nEmployee engagement is high at 80% in our recent employee survey\nAverage tenure is 8 years, with 12% internal promotions and transfers annually because we actively invest in developing our people.\nA staggering 30% of all new hires are referrals, as our people know it's a great place to work and recommend it to others\nHOW TO APPLY\nIf you're looking for a role where you can apply your technical expertise, work with industry-leading automation technology, and build a long-term career with a global organisation, we'd love to hear from you.\nPlease click on ‘Apply for this job’ and submit your CV and Cover Letter.
