Our schools are part of the nationally recognized “Knowledge Is Power Program” network of free, open-enrollment, college-preparatory public schools dedicated to preparing students for success in college and in life in our schools located in Newark, NJ, Camden,NJ, Paterson, NJ, and South Florida.\n KIPP TEAM & Family’s Data, Technology and Innovation Team (DTI) seeks a Data Analyst to develop and maintain trusted dashboards and reports across academics, student operations and enrollment, and compliance. You will work directly with leaders to build data products that help our students on their path to college, careers and choice-filled lives.\nOur stack includes SQL, dbt, the Cube semantic layer, Tableau, Git and Claude, to name a few. Our analytics engineering work runs through an AI-assisted development workflow with version control and code review. Over the next year, we plan to replace Tableau with BI-as-code tools, and you will help shape that shift.\nHere's what you'll be doing:\nBuild Trusted Data Products (60%)\nDevelop and maintain dashboards and reports across academic, enrollment and compliance data, with an equity lens\nHelp lead our move from Tableau to BI-as-code tools\nCreate documentation and training that drive consistent, confident use and scalable development\nDevelop and Maintain Data Models (25%)\nBuild, test and document dbt models and Cube semantic-layer metrics in our shared repository\nShip work through our development cycle: branches, pull requests, code review and automated checks\nUse AI-assisted tools like Claude to work faster, while verifying every output and protecting student privacy\nSupport Users and Drive Improvement Cycles (15%)\nWork directly with stakeholders, from teachers to board members, to integrate their feedback and build data products people can use effectively \nManage life cycle of project intake and request tracking for data products\n Must Haves\nLove of data, problem-solving, and collaboration, and a drive to learn\nA proven record of building trust with a wide range of teammates\nDeep commitment to both racial and educational equity\nStrong SQL skills\nExperience with Tableau or other business intelligence tools\nExperience with K-12 academic or operations data\nClear writing and communication, and attention to detail that protects data integrity\nModel KIPP TEAM & Family’s Be The Change values: Kid Focus, Radical Love, Excellence, Team & Fun\nPreferred\n3+ years in a K-12 school operations, data, or technology role\nExperience with dbt or a similar transformation framework, or with a semantic layer such as Cube\nComfort with Git and GitHub workflows: pull requests, code review and CI/CD\nHands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code)\nExperience with BI-as-code tools or Python for data work\nExperience with a cloud data warehouse (BigQuery preferred)\nExperience with student enrollment or state compliance reporting\n Location\nThis is a hybrid role. At this time, we typically work on-site 2 days per week and work remotely 3 days per week. Therefore, this role requires teammates to live within commuting distance of one of the three cities within which we work: Newark, NJ, Camden, NJ, or Miami, FL. Candidates who can work from our Newark office will be given preference for this role.\nCompensation & Benefits\nKIPP Team & Family offers a market-competitive salary range of $85,000 - $115,000. Salary ranges at KIPP are set based upon the role level and function using benchmarks in the education and non-profit sector and allow for growth within the role.
