Current projects emphasize aerial and satellite imagery, with opportunities to adapt these capabilities to new challenges and data domains such as underwater imagery and synthetic aperture radar.\nYour work will contribute to open source applications and frameworks includingTeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield. You’ll also explore how 3D vision can support broader computer vision problems such as object detection and tracking, change detection, super resolution, and video compression.\nKitware partners with government R&D agencies, branches of the U.S. military, members of the Intelligence Community, and commercial organizations ranging from startups to Fortune 500 companies. You’ll have opportunities to collaborate directly with customers, participate in field tests and demonstrations, publish novel work, and apply state-of-the-art artificial intelligence approaches to real-world national security challenges.\nWhat You'll Do\nConduct research and develop solutions involving camera calibration, registration, and 3D reconstruction from images.\n\nContribute to open source software such as TeleSculptor, KWIVER, and Danesfield.\n\nCollaborate with other researchers to develop ideas and peer-review work.\n\nPrepare and present research findings to customers and collaborators.\n\nReceive support and encouragement to participate in national and international conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, ECCV, WACV, and 3DV.\n\nSeek funding to grow and develop your own research areas, if desired.\n\nWhat We're Looking For\nA PhD in Computer Science or a related field.\n\nExperience using multiview geometry to develop algorithms for building 3D point clouds, meshes, Gaussian Splats, or NeRFs from imagery or video.\n\nExperience with AI/ML methods for 3D reconstruction or camera calibration.\n\nExperience with good software development practices and proficiency in C++ and/or Python.\n\nA strong publication record in top-tier research publications and conferences such as CVPR, ICCV, and ECCV.\n\nA highly innovative approach and a demonstrated record of solving difficult technical challenges using imagery.\n\nExperience collaborating successfully with others and thriving in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment.\n\nDue to contractual restrictions, only US Citizens will be considered for this position.\n\nActive or prior TS/SCI security clearance.\n\nCandidates should include a detailed list of publications as part of their resume or CV.\n\nPreferred
