FaST partners closely with customers from early R&D through high-volume production, ensuring performance and process alignment.What You'll Do\nIn this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise.\nOverview of Role\nThis position is for an Electrical Engineer to support the design and development of semiconductor capital equipment. The position spans development of new products as well as support of existing ones. The role requires strong hands-on electrical design, system integration, and troubleshooting skills in a cross-functional development environment.\nKey Responsibilities\nElectrical Design & Development\nPerform analog and digital electrical design for prototype and production boards, including schematic capture, board bring-up, and validation.\nOwn and drive board-level design activities, including power, signal integrity, and mixed-signal interfaces, in collaboration with system and architecture teams.\nContribute to FPGA-based designs, including requirements definition, integration, and debug at the system level.\nHands-On Electronics Assembly & Integration\nPerform hands-on assembly, integration, and modification of electronic boards and sub-assemblies, including cables, connectors, and harnesses, for prototype and pre-production systems.\nSupport mechanical and electrical integration of electronic assemblies at the system level.\nPerform rework, repairs, and hardware modifications as required to support development and validation activities.\nPrototype Validation Support\nPerform hands-on electrical work in the clean room on prototype tools, including installation, powerup, performance validation, and debug.\nSupport early hardware validation activities, own electrical redesign efforts when required, and implement improvements to enhance robustness and performance.\nWork closely with system engineers during prototype phases to ensure electrical requirements are met.\nSystem Troubleshooting & Escalation Support\nLead and support troubleshooting of complex board, FPGA, and system-level electrical issues on prototype and pre-production tools.\nProvide escalation support, including root cause analysis and definition of corrective actions.\nInterface directly with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve critical technical issues impacting program milestones.\nProgram & Cross-Functional Collaboration\nWork closely with Program Managers to define, track, and implement electrical requirements across programs.\nCollaborate with Mechanical, Software, Systems, and Mechatronics teams to ensure successful end-to-end system integration.\nParticipate in technical design reviews and clearly communicate electrical trade-offs, risks, and recommendations.\nVendor Interface & Travel\nInterface directly with external vendors to support new hardware development, assembly and integration issues, and design improvements.\nTravel to vendors as needed for troubleshooting, reviews, and hardware qualification activities.\nPreferred qualifications:\n5+ years of experience in semiconductor capital equipment or a similar complex electro-mechanical industry.\nExperience in design and ownership of mixed-signal PCBs and system-level electrical interfaces.\nStrong understanding of system integration, including signal integrity and grounding.\nExperience with FPGA or embedded interfaces, including system-level debugging.\nAbility to support design validation through hands-on work on prototype tools.\nMinimum Qualifications\nDoctorate (Academic) Degree and 0 years related work experience; Master's Level Degree and related work experience of 3 years; Bachelor's Level Degree and related work experience of 5 years\nAbout KLA\nWe provide advanced inspection tools, metrology systems, process solutions, and computational analytics that make electronics possible, tackling complex challenges.
