Our inspection, metrology, and analytics systems detect and monitor defects across logic and memory chips, specialty semiconductors, wafers, reticles, advanced packaging, process equipment and materials. FaST partners closely with customers from early R&D through high-volume production, ensuring performance and process alignment.What You'll Do\nIn this role, you will play a key part in advancing business priorities by delivering high-impact work across your area of expertise.\nResponsibilities\nDevelopment of leading-edge technology to advance KLA’s metrology systems with a focus on light sources\nDrive system characterization and error budget creation/analysis\nDerive clear actions to improve module and system performance\nHands-on laboratory work to build, run and iterate complex optical setups\nSupport in-house production and system integration; support customers and suppliers with technical feedback\nCollaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams (optics, mechanics, electronics) in an international environment\nMinimum Qualifications\nQualifications\nMaster’s degree (or PhD) in Physics / Optical Engineering or a comparable technical field recommended\n3+ year’s of relevant experience in system development and experimental engineering\nBackground in plasma or laser physics is highly beneficial\nExperience with data analysis tools (e.g., MATLAB / Python)\nStrong analytical and problem-solving mindset; ability to turn complex data into decisions\nSense of urgency - strong desire for short time to result\nConfident communication skills in English; comfortable working across cultures and disciplines\nOccasional domestic and international travel, including to the United States, may be required as part of this role (approx. 10-15%)\nEU work permit required\nAbout KLA\nWe provide advanced inspection tools, metrology systems, process solutions, and computational analytics that make electronics possible, tackling complex challenges.
