From construction management and observation/inspection services to laboratory testing and materials and forensic engineering, our Construction Services market helps to develop and maintain America's infrastructure and supply chain and is a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories.\nStep into Your New Role\nWe're looking for a Construction Materials Engineering and Testing (CoMET) Project Manager I with proven client service focus and technical leadership abilities to join us in meeting the needs of our diverse client base on projects in Dallas, TX and surrounding areas. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with a background in construction materials testing, special inspection, construction management, or other construction-related, engineering services. This role's primary function is to ensure Kleinfelder exceeds client expectations through frequent client communication, mentoring and managing Kleinfelder's local CoMET services team, planning and executing technical work, monitoring, and controlling project budgets, and working to expand our client base. This role offers a dynamic work environment, the opportunity to work on multiple high-profile projects and be part of an industry leading company.\nPosition responsibilities include:\nOversee all aspects of special inspections and materials testing for construction projects ranging from small to large scale.\nReview project plans and specifications to develop project estimates and proposals. Define project scope, timelines, and budgets.\nChampion safety culture by leading team safety efforts, modeling safe work practices, writing project specific safety plans, and encouraging proactive pre-task planning.\nSupport employee development through training, mentoring, and assigning responsibilities in both field and office settings.\nDevelop and implement detailed project plans to ensure successful execution of tasks, milestones, and deliverables.\nEngage in marketing and client outreach efforts to secure new business opportunities and project contracts.\nPartner with an assistant project manager and Accounting Department to ensure accurate financial tracking, invoicing, collections, and change order approvals.\nCoordinate with Legal Department on contract review and risk management.\nCoordinate with other internal departments or offices to access specialized resources and expertise as needed.\nConsideration for this position requires the following minimum competencies or experience:\nAssociate’s degree in engineering, Science, Architecture, or related technical field or equivalent combination of experience and education.\nA minimum of 6-7 years of experience in materials testing, special inspection, construction management, and/or other construction-related engineering service.\nA minimum of 3-4 years of project related experience, including responsibility for direct client interaction, as well as the ability to plan, organize, execute, and direct various size projects.\nA minimum of 1-2 years in a supervisory position, training and overseeing field engineers and/or materials testing technicians.\nAbility to work independently and as a team member, maintain composure, and work effectively in a high-pressure environment with changing priorities.\nExcellent interpersonal, presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.\nValid driver's license with a clean driving record and ability to pass drug test.\nAble to use a company provided laptop or tablet computer and a working knowledge of MS Office programs (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).\nA good work ethic, attention to detail, and high level of personal integrity.\nAuthorization to work in the United States.\nIn addition to the above required competencies and experience, hiring preference will be given to those candidates with the following certifications or experience:\nCandidates with applicable construction inspection and testing certifications from the American Concrete Institute (ACI), International Code Council (ICC), National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET); the American Welding Society (AWS).
