In this position you will assist the Project Engineers / Project Managers and participate in execution of field investigation and construction oversight. You will also assist with review and compilation of geotechnical laboratory and field-testing results, perform geotechnical analyses, and prepare geotechnical reports.\nThe responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to the following:\nAssist the Project Engineers / Project Managers and participate in field assignments including boring layout and utility clearance, coordination with drilling contractors, supervision of drill rig and geotechnical field investigations, logging of borings and test pits.\nInspection and construction oversight of grading, earthwork, retaining structures, trenchless installation, and foundation installation.\nAssist with lab testing assignment and compilation of lab and field-testing results.\nPerform geotechnical engineering analysis under the supervision of senior staff including soil/rock classification, slope stability analysis, earth retention systems, shallow and deep foundation design, settlement, ground improvement, trenchless drill design, and geologic hazard evaluation.\nAssist the Project Engineers / Managers and prepare geotechnical reports.\nThe ideal candidate will have:\n0 - 3 years of geotechnical engineering experience \nPositive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks\nAbility to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment\nDesire to work onsite during geotechnical and construction phases of projects\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\nIntermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred\nAn ability to communicate clearly and effectively with peers, supervisors, clients, and subcontractors \nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineer with an MS in Geotechnical Engineering strongly desired.\nEIT preferred\nFollowing an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.\nMove Forward with Kleinfelder: Kleinfelder and its’ subsidiaries and affiliates, has been connecting great people to the best work since 1961.
