From construction management and observation/inspection services to laboratory testing and materials and forensic engineering, our Construction Services market helps to develop and maintain America's infrastructure and supply chain and is a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories.\nStep into Your New Role\nKleinfelder's Christiansburg, VA and Richmond, VA offices are currently seeking a Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) with experience in Highway Construction Management primarily in the Design-Build arena.\nThe QAM is the key individual responsible for the management and coordination of the Quality Assurance (QA) organization on Design-Build projects and will report directly to the Design-Build Project Manager (DBPM).\nThe QAM is responsible for:\nManaging the QA program to independently monitor the Quality Control (QC) process by examining the QC data and provide independent proof in verification of the QC sampling, testing and inspection records in accordance with relevant contract documents\nReporting directly to the DBPM and shall have the overall responsibility to monitor the compliance and adherence to the established Quality Management Plan (QMP)\nThe QA inspection and testing of all materials used and work performed on the Project including monitoring of the Design-Build Contractor's QC program by providing an independent verification of the QC process\nCoordinating and managing internal and external audits of the quality processes, including but not limited to designer, design sub-consultants, contractor, sub-contractors and suppliers as determined\nThe qualified candidate will:\nBe a Licensed Professional Engineer or capable of being licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia \nHave Construction Management and Highway Construction/Infrastructure projects experience, including but not limited to; inspection; testing; systems integration; power and communication\nHave 10+ years of related experience, 3 - 4 years project related experience and knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations required\nHave a minimum of 2 years coordination/supervisory experience\nPossess excellent communications skills and the ability to identify and communicate - orally and in writing - with a wide range of stakeholders including contractors, VDOT personnel, government officials, inspectors, and the public\nHave the ability to identify potential projects/clients, and market our services\nPossess a driver's license and the ability to commute to projects when required\nPossess a working knowledge of the current software programs utilized in the industry\nThe QAM shall perform the following services to include, but not limited to:\nLead and direct project Design-Build Quality Assurance efforts in accordance with VDOT's Minimum Requirements for Quality Assurance and Quality Control on Design-Build and P3 Projects July 2018\nDeveloping and publishing project QA/QC Plans\nConducting audits, inspections and testing in validation of the QC Plan\nVisit the project on an as-needed basis\nManaging and coordinating QC & QA materials testing\nPreparing the project materials notebook in accordance with VDOT requirements\nMaintaining and coordinating appropriate staff for observation and inspection of work\nDocumenting QA activities and assuring that QC documentation meets appropriate standards\nAssuring that all quality documentation is deposited in the project Document Management System\nPrepare Non-Conformance Reports when appropriate and make recommendations for resolution\nManaging and supervising all nonconformities affecting quality of products\nCertify that the Work shown on contractor's monthly pay application is complete and meets relevant contract requirements\nMaintaining an awareness of safety and health requirements\nAssuring that offsite plant inspections are performed by the appropriate entity\nCertify that the project has been constructed in conformance with applicable standards and specifications\nFollowing an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.\nMove Forward with Kleinfelder: Kleinfelder and its’ subsidiaries and affiliates, has been connecting great people to the best work since 1961.
