Alberta based position only.\nWe are looking to hire an Intermediate Instrumentation and Controls specialist in our Edmonton Office and Calgary location. Reporting to the Instrumentation & Controls Lead, the Instrumentation and Controls specialist will provide instrumentation and controls support on multiple projects in varying size, scope, and complexity, ensuring that technical excellence, cost, schedule, and contractual requirements are achieved.\nThis is a great opportunity for an Instrumentation and Controls specialist who is proactive, energetic, enthusiastic about new challenges (technical and non-technical) and can communicate well with others. Eng and is able to stamp\n Has current knowledge of SmartPlant Instrumentation\n Has designed PLCs and communication networks \n Has 6+ years of experience in instrumentation, communication, and controls.\n Has worked for an EPC and created Engineering Work Packages.\nEXPERIENCE & ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS\nTechnical Diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering or related bachelor’s degree\n6+ years of direct Instrumentation, Communication & Controls experience in the oil and gas industry is a must; previous EPC experience is a must.\nProfessional registration with APEGA or ASET in the province of Alberta. Registration in other provinces is an asset. \nCurrent experience with SmartPlant Instrumentation.\nRESPONSIBILITES\nHelp instrumentation and controls design to execute assigned projects varying in scope and complexity.\nSupport client instrumentation, communication, and controls request as required. \nDevelopment of deliverables to meet project and client requirements, such as instrument data sheets, instrument specifications, schematics and wiring diagrams, control narratives, shut down keys, communication network diagrams, P&IDs as required.\nPerform instrumentation and controls design work involving DCS, PLC, SCADA, control panels, analyzers, analytical equipment, metering, control equipment and other instruments.\nParticipation in HAZOP, PHA and SIL studies as required.\nDevelopment of and assistance with project design criteria, design basis, work scopes, technical documents, cost estimates, schedules, specific instrumented systems for equipment, skid, module packages, and other project related documents.\nReview of vendor drawings and documents for compliance.\nAssistance with generation of operating manuals, specifications, and guidelines.\nDevelopment of technical documents and design information for regulatory applications with respect to instrumented systems.\nInterpretation and assistance with codes (ASME, ANSI, API, CEC, ISA).\nProvide support to the project team in the execution of their project responsibilities.\nProvide technical leadership, and mentor and supervise junior team members as required.\nTravel to field for project scoping, verification, construction support, and meeting with clients.\nFollowing developing technologies in instrumentation, communication, and control.\nCompletion of other relevant duties as required. \nWorking knowledge (design/implementation) of communication networks.\nCOMPETENCIES & SKILLS\nStrong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills.\nAbility to handle very detailed work and demonstrate a high level of accuracy.\nStrong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines.\nHave a proactive, “get it done” attitude. \nWorking knowledge of SmartPlant Instrumentation (INtools) datahsheet revisions and wiring module \nUnderstanding of instrumentation engineering concepts, construction methods, and approaches. \nStrong communication, collaboration, and customer service skills. \nAbility to handle very detailed work and demonstrate a high level of accuracy. \nStrong time management skills with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple deadlines.\nMust be able to work in a team environment.\nWell-developed critical thinking skills, strong analytical abilities, and a continuous improvement mindset. \nProficiency in MS Office Suite and PDF editing programs (Bluebeam, Adobe) used to create reports and documents. \nProgress with an Employer that Values You\nKleinfelder is an inclusive organization free from discrimination.
