From construction management and observation/inspection services to laboratory testing and materials and forensic engineering, our Construction Services market helps to develop and maintain America's infrastructure and supply chain and is a recognized industry leader with more than 25 accredited laboratories.\nStep into Your New Role\nKleinfelder Construction Services is seeking experienced Resident Engineers for opportunities across Southern California (Los Angeles County, Orange County and Inland Empire).\nIf selected, you would support transportation and / or public works projects with a hybrid work schedule.\nKey Responsibilities:\nManage and administer the construction of transportation and/or public works projects.\nProvide daily management of Assistant Resident Engineers, inspection personnel, and other quality assurance staff.\nAssign field personnel to specific project tasks and oversee their effectiveness.\nPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports as required.\nLead weekly progress meetings with contractors, owners, agencies, and other stakeholders as needed.\nMonitor and track contractor progress.\nCoordinate utility relocations with the appropriate agencies.\nServe as the primary field contact between project contractors and the client's Construction Manager.\nProvide input for the redesign of facilities to accommodate existing field conditions.\nPerform analytical calculations, including basic earthwork, grading, profiles, and special staking procedures.\nMaintain accurate and timely project records.\nReview and approve quantity calculations for progress pay estimates.\nReview, approve, and issue contract change orders and associated cost backups.\nReview contractor's CPM schedule, RFIs, and submittals such as traffic control plans, mix designs, and SWPPP.\nReview and approve the contractor's monthly progress payments.\nReview inspectors' daily and weekly diaries.\nRead and interpret plans and specifications.\nEnsure the contractor's compliance with contract documents.\nLead the project closeout process.\nRequired Skills and Abilities:\nFoster and maintain a collaborative work environment.\nWork independently, make effective decisions on construction work in progress, and resolve field issues.\nCoordinate effectively with various agencies and departments.\nPossess knowledge of civil components such as earthwork, grading, drainage, AC and PCC pavement, traffic control, SWPPP measures, signing and striping, and utility coordination.\nProficient in reading and interpreting plans and specifications.\nKnowledge of Caltrans construction practices is preferred.\nExhibit excellent oral and written communication skills.\nDemonstrate strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.\nMaintain a professional approach to developing strong client relations.\nQualifications:\nBS degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.\nCalifornia Professional Engineer's license preferred.\nA minimum of 12 years of related experience in consulting engineering or related service business\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nProficient in Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel.\nProactive and personable with a strong ability to learn quickly.\nCapable of working effectively in a team environment.\nFollowing an offer, candidates will be required to satisfactorily complete employment reference checks, verification of professional licensure and/or educational credentials, a motor vehicle report (MVR), and a comprehensive background check.\nMove Forward with Kleinfelder: Kleinfelder and its’ subsidiaries and affiliates, has been connecting great people to the best work since 1961.
