responsibilities for the job include the following:\n\nEngineering Leadership: \nLead and mentor engineering managers, team leads, and backend engineering teams.\nDrive architecture and design decisions for Java-based microservices applications.\nEstablish and enforce engineering best practices, including code quality, testing standards, CI/CD, and API governance.\nEnsure timely and high-quality delivery across all client engagements.\nManage hiring, performance reviews, career development, and succession planning.\nFoster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.\nTrack and improve engineering KPIs such as sprint velocity, deployment frequency, and defect metrics.\n\nRelease Management: \nOwn end-to-end release lifecycle management including planning, scheduling, risk assessment, and execution.\nDefine release governance processes to support zero-downtime deployments.\nCoordinate release readiness activities across engineering and DevOps teams.\nImprove CI/CD automation, rollback strategies, and deployment efficiency.\nMaintain release calendars and proactively communicate with stakeholders and clients.\nDrive continuous improvement in release predictability and change management.\n\nClient Support Operations: \nOversee the client support team handling production issues and client-raised tickets.\nDefine and monitor SLA/SLO adherence for response and resolution timelines.\nLead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement permanent fixes for recurring issues.\nEstablish support processes, knowledge management, and operational runbooks.\nAct as escalation point for critical client incidents and coordinate cross-functional resolution.\nPresent support metrics and operational reports to leadership and clients.\n\nRequirements: \n10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 5 years in engineering leadership.\nStrong hands-on experience in Java, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and enterprise application development.\nExpertise in microservices architecture, REST APIs, event-driven systems, and distributed systems.\nExperience managing multi-layered engineering teams.\nStrong exposure to release management in multi-client or SaaS environments.\nExperience handling client-facing support operations and SLA-driven environments.\nHands-on knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, and Kubernetes.\nGood understanding of DevOps principles and CI/CD pipelines.\nExcellent stakeholder management and communication skills.\nExposure to LLMs or agentic engineering will be an added advantage.\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \nBachelor's or master's degree in computer science or a related field.\nExperience with ITIL or service management frameworks.\nFamiliarity with Jira, Confluence, and Agile delivery methodologies.\nCertifications in cloud, DevOps, Agile, or project management frameworks are preferred.\n\nLeadership Competencies: \nStrong people leadership and team
