Backend Developer

As a Backend Developer, you will own the development and scaling of our backend platforms and microservices. You will collaborate closely with frontend engineers, product managers, and architects to deliver robust, high-performing, and delightful experiences to our users. This role requires deep ownership, strong technical judgment, and a passion for building world-class consumer-facing server systems. The candidate is expected to work from the office for 5 days a week.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of experience in backend/system development.
• Strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and Spring JPA.
• Solid understanding of microservice architecture and its design patterns.
• Understanding of containerization and orchestration tools like Docker, AWS ECS, etc.
• Deep experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL RDBMS design, performance tuning, SQL).
• Practical experience with Redis for caching and data structure handling.
• Expertise in designing and integrating RESTful APIs in scalable systems.
• Solid understanding of version control Git and code quality practices.
• Familiarity with AWS EC2 S3 RDS, Lambda, ECS, etc.
• Experience with asynchronous/event-driven architectures: Kafka/RabbitMQ/SQS.
• Good debugging skills and a disciplined approach to testing and system monitoring.
• Must have an AI-first approach. If you are not using Claude Code (or something similar) day in and day out, this is not the job for you.
• Must understand the nuances of working in an early-stage startup.
• Must be able to operate in a setting of chaos and ambiguity.
• Must be able to context-switch often.
