The role of Hydrotechnical Engineer will provide you with the opportunity to: \nWork with the latest versions of software, including GoldSim, PCSWMM, HEC-RAS, HEC- HMS, Flow-2D/3D\nWork on mine site wide water balance and water quality models (with the opportunity to use GoldSim)\nDesign hydrotechnical components tailings storage facilities for global mining projects \nIncorporate climate change resiliency in hydrotechnical design\nContribute to risk assessments, Dam Safety Reviews and risk-informed decision making\nEngage with clients, colleagues and suppliers on environmentally focused field programs and design solutions \nLead less experienced staff through the methodologies of design solutions \nBuild client rapport as projects progress from feasibility through to mine closure\n\nWhat we require: \n\nWe respect the knowledge and experience you have gained to date and are willing to support you as you build on it. We do however require:\nA degree in civil engineering: a master’s degree is considered an asset\n3+ years’ civil design experience related to surface water controls (preferably for mining or related industries), with a track record of continued development\nYou must be eligible to register as professional engineer in Canada \nExperience in hydrotechnical designs analyses (e.g., water balance, open channel flow, erosion protection)\nA general understanding of mining-related regulations and industry best practices\nPassion for collaborating with clients and colleagues, fostering long-term relationships\nEnhanced communication skills, which should include experience in writing technical reports and general project correspondence\nExperience in a safety focused environment with near miss and incident reporting requirements\n\nYou will excel in our team if you have:\nAn ability to find creative solutions and know how to present them.\nA willingness to mentor others and be mentored.\nAn ability to build rapport with clients, colleagues, and industry partners.\nDemonstrate that you are flexible and seek solutions rather than focus on problems.\nA willingness to travel and undertake fieldwork.\nA proven ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.\n\nThe salary for this position is $82,000 to $115,000 per year.
