This role works closely with our Project Managers, Superintendents, field teams, subcontractors, and clients to help keep projects organized, on schedule, and moving forward.Reporting to the Senior Project Manager, The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a fast-paced construction environment, communicates well, pays attention to the details, and isn't afraid to take initiative.\nThis role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, working collaboratively with field operations, and taking ownership of project coordination from start-up through closeout.\nKLS Earthworks is a leading civil construction contractor specializing in earthworks, underground utilities, and infrastructure development. We pride ourselves on delivering high-quality projects while maintaining our commitment to safety, integrity, and exceptional client service.\nWhat You’ll Do\nSupport Project Managers with the day-to-day coordination of multiple construction projects simultaneously.\nAssist with project planning and create, manage, and maintain project schedules, look-aheads, and progress tracking using Microsoft Project.\nReview project estimates and job costs and assist with quantity tracking, cost tracking, progress billing, and project forecasting.\nAssist with project start-up and closeout, including coordination with building departments, government and regulatory bodies, engineers, architects, and other consultants.\nCoordinate with field supervisors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and clients, including material orders and deliveries, to support project requirements and timelines.\nPrepare and track RFIs, change orders, purchase orders, submittals, and other project documentation.\nReview drawings, specifications, contracts, and project requirements.\nAttend project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and track follow-up and action items.\nAssist with evaluating subcontractor pricing and negotiating subcontract pricing.\nIdentify and investigate potential project risks, delays, and high-risk situations, and assist in developing solutions that support the best interests of the project and company.\nWork closely with field teams to ensure they have the information, documentation, and resources required to complete the work.\nTrack project changes and maintain complete, accurate, and organized supporting documentation and project records.\nQualifications\nPrevious experience in a Project Coordinator or similar construction role is preferred.\nExperience in civil construction, earthworks, underground utilities, or related infrastructure work is an asset.\nAbility to read and understand construction drawings and specifications.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\nStrong attention to detail and follow-through.\nComfortable working with both office and field teams.\nProficient with Microsoft Office; experience with construction/project management software is an asset.\nValid driver's license.\nPreferred\nExperience obtaining City of Calgary permits, approvals, and indemnifications.\nExperience coordinating temporary utility shutdowns and public notifications.\nExperience with HeavyBid, HeavyJob, Vista Viewpoint, or similar construction management software.\nDiploma or degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Project Management, or a related field.\nWhat we are Offering\nCompetitive salary based on experience and qualifications\nComprehensive benefits package starting on Day 1\nProfessional development and training opportunities\nCareer advancement opportunities within a growing civil construction company\nCollaborative and supportive team environment\nThe opportunity to contribute to impactful infrastructure projects that shape our communities\nA strong safety-first culture where employees are valued and supported\nKLS Earthworks Inc. is committed to creating a safe and inclusive workplace.
