We have a skilled and experienced workforce dedicated to achieving excellence in all areas of the business from Engineering to Project Management, Business Support to Operations.\nAs our business evolves, we are looking to strengthen our workforce with talented and motivated individuals across a range of disciplines to work from our Northwest Engineering Centre of Excellence and currently have this opportunity available:\nAbout the role:\nThe primary purpose of this role is to complete RT, VT, MT & PT tests and inspection of products at various stages of production process, with an emphasis on non-destructive testing.\nKey duties include, but are not limited to:\nEnsuring the product quality of materials that are fabricated on the shop floor in a timely manner.\n\nReviews part prints, procedures and work instructions to complete testing.\n\nSets up and performs non-destructive tests on materials, parts, or products to measure performance, life, or material characteristics: Positions parts between electrodes of magnetic testing equipment and activates switch to induce magnetic field that attracts and accumulates iron oxide particles at defective points.\n\nCoordinating with Quality Manager on all applicable issues.\n\nDocumenting report, and corrective/preventative actions.\n\nEnsures that equipment operates correctly.\n\nEnsures compliance to the process for the Control of Records and Document Control Process.\n\nParticipation in problem solving activities, to mitigate the presence of defects identified.\n\nSet up and calibrate non-destructive testing equipment\n\nWhat we’re looking for:\nOur ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:\n·The ability to read and accurately interpret drawings/specifications.\n·The ability to use Quality Instruments, i.e. Weld gauges, micrometers, steel ruler, etc.\n·Qualified in accordance with ISO9712 for VT/MT/PT, minimum\n·UK driving licence\n·Valid passport\n·Exposure of working within a Manufacturing/Engineering environment (ideally on sub assembly components for either - Aerospace, MOD, Motorsport, Oil & Gas or Nuclear)\n·Driving Continuous Improvement/Lean manufacturing\n·NDT Experience\nWhy you should join us:\nWhen you become part of the KNDS UK team, you will enjoy employee benefits such as:\n·Competitive salary\n·Attractive pension (4% employee contribution, 7% employer contribution)\n·Half-day Friday\n·Life assurance scheme\n·Company sick pay scheme which increases with service\n·Employee Assistance Programme\n·Additional Holidays & other Long Service rewards\n·Wellbeing initiatives, such as Free Fruit on Tuesday’s\n·Cycle to work Scheme\n·Free on-site car parking\n·On-site electric vehicle charging points\nWe’re also very proud to be part of the Armed Forces Covenant since 2018, achieving their Silver Award in 2020 and Gold Award in 2024.
