Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronic Engineering with a dual major or minor in Electrical or Computer Engineering is preferred. A Co-op in this position will work within one of our Centers of Competency (CoC’s).\nEssential Functions: \nAdvanced product concept R&D and new product development\nSystems development and test simulation design (electronic/mechanical systems, prototyping/input, signals/design control, architecture/signal output conditioning/GUI, and display systems)\nProduct validation and troubleshooting in laboratory and vehicle environments\nOversee inventory, assembly, and coordination of testing with technicians\nProduct support, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis\nSoftware algorithm/HW validation using software and hardware-in-the-loop technologies\nProduct phase reviews, product DFMEAs, and project management\nSpecial braking systems and modules design\nElectronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic circuit analysis\nProduct application development, road test, and customer demos\nAssist in translating customer requirements into new product\nEligibility Requirements: \nCurrently attending an accredited college or university\n3.0 cumulative GPA or higher\nAbility to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment\nExceptional analytical skills\nAbility to establish trust and credibility\nEnjoyment in research and development (R&D)\nStrong written and oral communication skills\nFluency in English, German, and Spanish is a plus\nProficient in Microsoft Office Tools: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint\nHands-on skills with mechanical tools, shop equipment, and trucks\nComputer Language - HTML, Visual Basic\nUnderstanding of pneumatic, hydraulic, and simple electronic systems\nGeneral Information: \nHours and Location: 40-hour work week on-site in Avon, Ohio (20 miles west of Cleveland) \nPay Rate: $19 - $26/hour (contingent upon credit hours)\nPosition Requirements: \nThe demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
