Learn more today! www.bendix.com/careers\nJOB DESCRIPTION:\nPosition Summary:\nThis position is responsible for design, development, application, testing, and release of next generation Driver Assistance products and features for commercial vehicles.\nEssential Functions:\nDevelop system requirements definitions, cross-product communication interfaces, product testing, develop system applications and release.\nApplication of ADAS functions, systems, components and mounting hardware.\nBased on internal and customer requirements pursue new driver assistance product opportunities.\nDevelop and execute technical validation plans (analysis, simulation, vehicle test) to validate system release and product applications performance.\nComponent DVP&R development and testing execution according to Bendix and customer requirements.\nUnderstanding and refining requirements for new driver assistance product opportunities.\nRelease of products and documentation pertaining to Wingman Fusion and other ADAS offerings at customers compliant with the Global Change Management process using TeamCenter PLM and PTC Integrity (V-model development, requirements traceability).\nInterface with corporate, customer, software developers, systems engineers, design engineers and management to communicate status of projects.\nAuthor technical documentation for driver assistance products, including: test reports and customer-facing specifications for installation, calibration, and service of these systems.\nSupport DAS team(s) in an Agile/SCRUM environment.\nBenchmark competitive systems.\nWilling to travel (test track, customer locations, winter test) as required (minimum expected).\nKnowledge:\nBroad automotive and electronic systems knowledge, preferably related to heavy truck.\nKnowledge of vehicle communication protocols including J1939, UDS, and CCP.\nTechnical knowledge of Driver Assistance components and impact on overall vehicle performance.\nExperience with CANalyzer.\nFamiliar with CANape, CANoe, Matlab, Simulink, Trucksim and Phyton is a plus.\nSkills with data acquisition systems for vehicle and environmental testing.\nKnowledge and experience with product quality tools such as system FMEA, DVP&R, ASPICE, and ISO 26262 - Functional Safety Concepts.\nIn-depth knowledge of air brake systems is a plus.\nExperience (Engineer 1):\n0-2 years of experience\nExperience (Engineer 2):\nDesired 3+ years of experience preferably in driver assistance, vehicle dynamics, or vehicles controls engineering.\nHands on mechanical, electrical, automotive experience.\nExperience in the heavy-duty truck, bus and/or automotive market is a plus.\nAutomotive product design experience.\nAbility to work in a cross-functional team in a dynamic working environment including international team members.\nCommercial Driver License (CDL) or willingness & capability to obtain CDL within a year of employment.\nExperience (Engineer 3):\nA minimum of 6+ years of experience preferably in driver assistance, vehicle dynamics, or vehicles controls engineering.\nHands on mechanical, electrical, automotive experience.\nExperience in the heavy-duty truck, bus and/or automotive market is a plus.\nStrong product design experience.\nAbility to work in a cross-functional team in a dynamic working environment including international team members.\nCommercial Driver License (CDL) or willingness & capability to obtain CDL within a year of employment.\nSkills:\nAbility to assimilate and learn new tools and develop a cross-functional skill set.\nStrong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and a proactive work ethic.\nCapable of prioritizing time/resources/goals and possess strong interpersonal skills to ensure success in a cross-functional, team environment.\nAbility to develop new processes with strategic thinking to enhance business unit performance.\nIdeal candidate is a self-starter with demonstrated project management skills.\nSupport teams in planning and decision making.\nInfluential and motivational, provides direction, removes barriers.\nPerforms assignments with sense of urgency.\nDevelop technical documentation for driver assistance products, including: test reports and customer specifications for installation, calibration and service of these systems.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Systems Engineering required.\nTravel:\nWilling to travel (minimum expected).\nPosition Requirements:\nThe demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
