Learn more today! www.bendix.com/careers\nJOB DESCRIPTION:\nPosition Summary:\nThis position is responsible for design, development, application, testing, and release of next generation Brake Controls products and features for commercial vehicles.\nEssential Functions:\nLead and support Brake Controls team(s) in an Agile/SCRUM environment\nAssignments will include control system design, product and feature design, requirements definition, cross-product communication interfaces, product testing, and release.\nUnderstanding and refining requirements for new driver assistance product opportunities.\nModel based development of control systems, including bench prototyping and testing all the way to code generation and embedded software for final product validation.\nDevelop and execute technical plans (analysis, simulation, vehicle test) to validate system release and product applications\nRelease of products and documentation pertaining the product line and other offerings at customers compliant with the Global Change Management process and ASPICE concepts (V-model development, requirements traceability), using tools such as Teamcenter PLM and PTC Integrity\nApplication of next-generation components, functions, and systems.\nAuthor technical documentation for driver assistance products, including: test reports and customer-facing specifications for installation, calibration, and service of these systems.\nSoftware / Hardware in the loop testing.\nBenchmark competitive systems.\nInterface with customers, software developers, systems engineers and management to communicate status of projects.\nWilling to travel (test track, customer locations, winter test) as required up to 25%.\nKnowledge:\nIn-depth knowledge of air brake systems is a plus.\nBroad automotive and electronic systems knowledge preferably related to heavy truck.\nKnowledge of vehicle communication protocols including J1939, UDS, and CCP.\nTechnical knowledge of vehicle system components and impact on overall vehicle performance.\nFamiliar with CANalyzer, CANape, CANoe, Matlab, Simulink, dSpace, Python, and TruckSim\nKnowledge and experience with product quality tools such as system FMEA, DVP&R, ISO 26262, ASPICE, and Functional Safety Concepts.\nExperience (Engineer 3):\nA minimum of 6+ years of experience preferably in vehicle dynamics or vehicles controls engineering.\nHands on mechanical, electrical, automotive experience.\nExperience in the heavy-duty truck, bus and/or automotive market is a plus.\nStrong product design experience.\nAbility to work in a cross-functional team in a dynamic working environment including international team members\nGreenbelt certified a plus\nSkills:\nAbility to assimilate data quickly\nStrong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills and a proactive work ethic.\nCapable of prioritizing time/resources/goals and possess strong interpersonal skills to ensure success in a cross-functional, team environment.\nFormulates new processes and strategic thinking to enhance business unit performance.\nIdeal candidate is a self-starter with demonstrated project management skills\nSupports teams in planning and decision making.\nStrong customer orientation to enhance business relationships and growth.\nCapable of performing in a highly stressful environment.\nInfluential and motivational, provides direction, removes barriers.\nLeads with sense of urgency\nDesire to learn new tools and develop a cross-functional skill set.\nEducation:\nBachelor’s Degree or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Systems Engineering required\nTravel: Up to 25% required\nPosition Requirements: The demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
