The position is responsible for embedded control software development, control system design, and preparation of technical documentation in accordance with applicable engineering standards and project requirements.\nThe Electronic Systems Engineer collaborates with systems, mechanical, product, and test engineering teams to support system integration, verification, validation, and commissioning activities. The position develops control solutions using established hardware platforms and operating systems and supports integration of hardware extensions as required for project implementation.\nThe Electronic Systems Engineer performs work in compliance with applicable company policies, engineering processes, quality requirements, safety standards, and industry regulations.\nEssential Functions\nDesign and develop software for real-time embedded control systems used in rail industry applications, including hydraulic and pneumatic braking controllers, HVAC controllers, and passenger entry system controllers.\nPrepare, maintain, and revise software and engineering documentation in accordance with IEEE standards, EN standards, and project-specific technical requirements.\nParticipate in cross-functional engineering teams to support product development, system integration, testing, and deployment activities.\nProvide technical input to program management regarding engineering deliverables, development schedules, and implementation planning.\nParticipate in technical meetings with customers and internal stakeholders, including design reviews, testing activities, commissioning support, and technical discussions.\nSupport validation, troubleshooting, and technical issue resolution related to control system software and integration.\nMaintain compliance with applicable quality management, product safety, and environmental, health, and safety standards, including ISO and industry standards relevant to rail systems.\nMaintain accurate engineering records and technical documentation in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements.\nMinimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering field and three (3) years of experience in electronic systems engineering or a related occupation involving design and development of embedded control systems. Experience must include:\nDeveloping software for real-time embedded control applications using ANSI C and/or C++.\nDesigning or implementing embedded control systems using standard software development environments and embedded operating systems.\nWorking with industrial communication protocols, including Ethernet-based and CAN-based networks.\nApplying principles of distributed control systems and embedded controller architectures.\nPreparing engineering and software documentation in accordance with industry or project standards, including IEEE, EN, or equivalent standards.\nUsing electronic test and measurement equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes, multimeters, or signal generators) for system testing and troubleshooting.\nApplying software development lifecycle practices, including software configuration management and structured or object-oriented design methodologies.\nPerforming engineering work within rail, automotive, industrial automation, or comparable industrial control environments.\nWork Hours: 40 hours per week\nAnnual Salary: $130,500\nTelecommuting: may work remote 2 days per week\nApply:https://careers.knorr-bremse.com\nBecome part of our team!\nJoin us in shaping the mobility of the future!\nWe - that's around 32,000 employees worldwide.
