This role improves equipment uptime, safety, quality, and throughput by diagnosing issues across robot motion, part handling, fixture interaction, PLC/HMI interfaces, and vision/scanner systems. The ideal candidate is a strong robotics and mechanical automation troubleshooter with practical PLC debug capability and strong cross-functional execution skills.\nEssential Functions\nProvides technical leadership for manufacturing automation and operations.\nDevelops, integrates, and improves automated equipment, control systems, and robotics.\nMaintains PFMEAs and ensures compliance with ISO 14001 and IATF 16949 standards.\nTroubleshoots automation and production issues to improve safety, quality, productivity, and uptime.\nLeads automation projects and new product launches from concept through production.\nCollaborates with suppliers and cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives.\nSupports corrective actions, quality requirements, employee training, and safety programs.\nPrepares performance reports and provides off-shift support as required.\nExperience\n\nRequires at least 4 years of engineering experience in a fast paced, continuous improvement, production environment.\nRobotics troubleshooting and programming experience\nMechanical automation understanding\nManufacturing floor troubleshooting experience\nAbility to read/debug PLC logic\nSensor and actuator troubleshooting\nCross-functional execution with maintenance and production\nInterpret electrical and mechanical schematics.\nExperience with automation controls, PLCs, robotics, and vision systems.\nKnowledge of Lean Manufacturing, SPC, and GD&T.\nExperience with SCADA, MES, IIoT, and industrial communication protocols.\nExperience with motion control and robotic systems.\nDesirable experience:\nVision system experience\nAllen-Bradley / Siemens PLC familiarity\nSafety zone / interlock awareness\nWelding automation exposure\nBarcode/scanner/traceability exposure\nServo/motion exposure\nEducation \nAssociate’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering, computer science, or a related field is required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.\nRequires at least 8 years of engineering experience in a fast-paced, continuous improvement, production environment with an Associate’s degree, or at least 4 years of relevant engineering experience with a Bachelor’s degree.\nThe anticipated salary range for candidates who will work in Bowling Green, KY is $89,900 - $134,900 per year. The final pay offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to the type and years of experience within the job, the type of years and experience within the industry and education. Bendix is a is a multi-state employer, and this pay scale may not reflect positions that work in other states or locations. Provided they meet all eligibility requirements under the applicable plan documents, employees (and their eligible dependents) will be eligible to enroll in group healthcare plans that offer medical, dental, vision, and basic life and disability insurance. Employees also will be able to enroll in our company’s 401k plan. Employees will also receive 120 hours of vacation leave and 40 hours of Personal Paid Absence every year. Employees will also enjoy 12 paid holidays, and 1 floating holiday throughout the calendar year, subject to relevant terms outlined in the employee handbook. 6 weeks of paid parental leave will also be available for use.
