SAP PM/PP-PI Solution Architect

Role Overview :

We are seeking an experienced SAP PM / PP-PI Solution Architect with strong hands-on experience in SAP Plant Maintenance and Process Manufacturing. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience leading end-to-end SAP implementations, strong business knowledge of the Life Sciences / Process Industry, and proven expertise in maintenance, batch management, planning, and sampling processes.

The candidate will be responsible for translating business requirements into scalable SAP solutions, leading workshops, designing functional processes, configuring SAP PM, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and supporting implementation and transformation programs. Candidates with strong S/4HANA experience, SAP certification, and experience in global implementation programs will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities :

- Lead and execute full lifecycle SAP PM implementations including blueprinting, requirement gathering, configuration, testing, training, cutover, and go-live support.

- Lead business requirement workshops with business users, maintenance teams, planners, engineers, and senior stakeholders.

- Analyze business requirements and translate them into SAP functional designs and system configurations.

- Design and implement SAP PM processes covering :

1. Preventive Maintenance

2. Corrective Maintenance

3. Breakdown Maintenance

4. Maintenance Planning

5. Calibration

6. Refurbishment

7. Warranty Management

8. Maintenance Notifications

9. Maintenance Orders

- Configure SAP PM master data including :

1. Equipment

2. Functional Locations

3. Equipment BOMs

4. Maintenance Task Lists

5. Maintenance Plans

6. Work Centers

7. Measuring Points

8. Maintenance Strategies

- Configure maintenance order types, planning parameters, priorities, notification types, catalog profiles, and related PM settings.

- Provide strong expertise in SAP PP-PI processes, particularly within process manufacturing and life sciences environments.

- Design and support Batch Management, Production Planning, Sampling Processes, and Process Industry scenarios.

- Ensure appropriate integration between SAP PM, PP-PI, QM, MM, FI/CO, PS, and CS.

- Work closely with SAP QM teams on quality inspection, calibration, sampling, and maintenance-related quality processes.

- Ensure seamless integration with procurement, inventory, quality management, production, finance, controlling, and project systems.

- Coordinate with ABAP and technical teams for functional specifications, enhancements, reports, interfaces, BAPIs/BADIs, user exits, and other developments.

- Prepare functional specifications, configuration documents, process flows, test scripts, training materials, and solution documentation.

- Develop and execute unit, system integration, regression, and user acceptance test scenarios.

- Lead defect resolution and provide functional troubleshooting during implementation and post-go-live phases.

- Provide post-go-live support and ensure system stability and business continuity.

- Identify opportunities for process optimization, standardization, automation, and adoption of SAP best practices.

- Handle change requests, enhancements, upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives across ECC and S/4HANA environments.

- Provide solution guidance and functional leadership to junior consultants and project team members.

- Transfer knowledge to client teams and internal consultants.

- Stay current with SAP product developments, industry trends, and emerging asset management technologies.

- Interact confidently with customer leadership and senior management.

- Participate in project-specific business travel as required.

Industry Experience :

- Strong experience in Life Sciences / Pharmaceutical / Process Manufacturing is highly preferred.

- Experience in the following industries will also be considered advantageous : Pharmaceuticals, Life Sciences, Chemicals Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Utilities, Automotive, Heavy Engineering, Consumer Products.

S/4HANA & Emerging Technology Exposure :

- Candidates with experience in the following areas will have an advantage : SAP S/4HANA Asset Management, S/4HANA PM, SAP Fiori, Simplified Data Models, SAP Asset Manager, Mobile PM Solutions, Predictive Maintenance, SAP Workflow, IoT Integration, SAP Analytics Cloud, Asset Management Analytics.

Education & Certification :

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent discipline.

- SAP PM / EAM certification is an added advantage.

- S/4HANA certification in PM/EAM is preferred.

Candidate Profile :

- Minimum 8 years of SAP PM experience.

- At least 3 end-to-end SAP implementations.

- Strong hands-on configuration experience.

- Strong understanding of business processes in process manufacturing / life sciences.
