In addition to our major specializations, we continuously strive to innovate to design more than a thousand other beauty, health and hygiene products.\nThe mission we are proposing:\nUnder the supervision of the Microbiology QC Supervisor, the QC Microbiologist is responsible for general microbiological testing according to established specifications, methods and procedures. This includes testing raw materials, bulk batches, packaged product line samples and environmental monitoring samples (water, surfaces and air). This person might also be involved in other activities pertaining to the general operation of the Microbiology Laboratory, including media preparation and control, problem-solving efforts, identification testing for microorganisms and antimicrobial effectiveness testing of products.\nAn overview of your new position\nPerforms microbiological testing of raw material, packaged finished product and bulk batch samples per standard methods, specifications and procedures pertaining to both drug and non-drug products\nManages testing requirements for raw materials and packaged products per the flow of incoming samples. Any immediate needs for testing are as directed by the Supervisor or designate\nResponsible for routine sampling and testing for the purified water purification system, and for testing of samples from points of use\nHandles monthly environmental air quality testing per standard procedure, including documentation of results\nPerforms routine monitoring of manufacturing and packaging equipment for microbial contamination in accordance with standard procedure, including documentation of results\nConducts routine monitoring of microbiological quality for compressed air in processing and packaging areas\nParticipates in problem-solving efforts with respect to microbial contamination concerns or issues as requested by the Supervisor, including assisting the identification of microorganisms\nInvolved in the preparation of media for microbiological testing, sterility control and growth support for validation of media, and maintenance of cultures\nAssists in the sterilization of equipment for internal use by the microbiology laboratory and as required by other departments\nHelps support the internal R&D program, and customer R&D efforts as applicable, through participation in the evaluation of antimicrobial effectiveness in new or modified formulations, as requested by the Supervisor\nInvolved in validation of sanitization procedures for manufacturing and packaging and equipment per directives from the Supervisor\nAssists the Microbiology Supervisor in the training of manufacturing and packaging personnel with respect to appropriate manufacturing practises toward the avoidance of microbial contamination of materials and products\nComplies with environmental protection policies and practises in the handling and disposal of biohazardous materials\nParticipates in the general operational upkeep of the Microbiological Laboratory, including maintenance of adequate supplies, media preparation, maintenance/ verification/ calibration of equipment, routine disposal of biohazardous and other wastes, and general cleaning\nPerform any other related tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor as required by operational requirements.\n\nWhat You Need to Know About This Position\nEmployment Status: Permanent\nHours per Week: minimum 40 hrs\nNumber of Positions Available: 1\nWork Location: Knowlton\nStart Date: Soon As Possible\n\nYou are the ideal candidate if you have\nGood interpersonal and communication skills\nSelf-motivated, conscientious, self-reliant and well-organized\nAbility to work independently and in teams\nBachelor’s degree in microbiology or a College Diploma (DEC) in Microbiology combined with significant experience;\nBasic computer knowledge;\nBilingualism (French and English);\n\nThe bilingualism is required to communicate with certain team members and to understand the technical documentation provided by our customers, mainly in English\n\nWhat we have to offer you\nBonus program based on company performance and meeting your goals\nComprehensive group insurance program including; prescription drugs, dental, vision, and more\nShort and long-term disability insurance\nRRSP: We contribute up to 4% of your salary, matching your contribution\nAccess to telemedicine service and employee support program including sleep resources\nReceive quality, custom personal protective equipment\nOpportunities for advancement and internal mobility to develop your potential\n\nDoes the challenge speak to you?
