This role will provide construction leadership for large-scale, complex capital projects across our manufacturing operations, with a strong focus on safety, constructability, execution excellence, schedule performance, quality, and cost.\nThe Construction Manager will partner closely with project leadership, engineering, operations, contractors, and other key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, from early project development and constructability planning through field execution, commissioning, and startup.\nThis individual will be responsible for creating an environment where work is executed safely and effectively while helping project teams identify and mitigate construction risks that could impact schedule, cost, quality, or successful startup. The role will also provide leadership and direction to construction superintendents and contractor organizations supporting major capital investments.\nThe ideal candidate will be located in, or open to relocating to, the Southeast and willing to travel based on project requirements.\nWhat You Will Do\nLead construction execution for large-scale capital projects within operating industrial manufacturing facilities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality execution.\nDevelop construction strategies for complex projects involving major equipment installations, facility expansions, infrastructure improvements, and modernization efforts.\nPartner with project management, engineering, procurement, operations, and contractors to develop integrated execution plans supporting project safety, cost, schedule, quality, and startup objectives.\nProvide constructability, sequencing, site logistics, contracting, and execution input during project development and detailed engineering.\nReview engineering drawings, specifications, scopes of work, construction packages, and schedules to ensure designs are complete, accurate, and constructable.\nLead and coordinate construction superintendents, contractors, and field resources across multiple disciplines and work fronts while promoting Georgia-Pacific's Principle Based Management (PBM®) philosophy.\nIdentify and mitigate construction risks that could impact safety, cost, schedule, quality, operations, commissioning, or startup.\nOversee critical construction activities, including major equipment installation, heavy lifts and rigging, shutdowns, tie-ins, mechanical completion, commissioning, and startup.\nMonitor field progress and partner with project controls and project leadership to address schedule risks, cost impacts, productivity challenges, contractor performance, and recovery plans.\nLead, coach, and develop construction team members while building organizational capability and driving continuous improvement in large capital project execution.\nWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)\nFive (5) or more years of construction leadership experience supporting large industrial capital projects, including construction and installation of process equipment, infrastructure, or manufacturing systems.\nTen (10) or more years of combined experience in industrial construction, project management, engineering, or capital project execution.\nExperience managing construction activities within operating industrial or manufacturing facilities.\nExperience coordinating multiple construction disciplines, contractors, and simultaneous work fronts on complex projects.\nExperience reviewing engineering drawings, construction packages, scopes of work, schedules, and project execution plans.\nExperience with construction safety, contractor management, constructability reviews, field execution, and project turnover.\nWilling and able to travel (up to 50%) based on project requirements and work within industrial manufacturing environments, including areas that may be noisy, dusty, non-air-conditioned, or unheated.\nWhat Will Put You Ahead\nFifteen (15) or more years of industrial construction or capital project execution experience.\nExperience leading construction execution for large-scale, multi-year capital projects involving significant complexity, multiple contractors, and multiple construction disciplines.\nExperience supporting major capital projects from early development and engineering through construction, commissioning, startup, and turnover to operations.\nExperience leading construction managers, superintendents, contractor organizations, or large multidisciplinary field teams.\nExperience executing major capital projects within pulp and paper, chemicals, building products, refining, power, heavy manufacturing, or similar process industries.\nExperience with major equipment installation, large crane operations, heavy lifts, complex rigging, shutdowns, outages, and tie-ins within operating facilities.\nBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, with experience developing construction strategies, managing contractors, and mitigating project cost and schedule risks.\nAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
