This role combines strategic sourcing with hands-on procurement and supply-chain execution, giving you the opportunity to solve immediate supply challenges while building supplier capabilities and sourcing strategies that support long-term growth.\n You will work directly with suppliers and teams across Materials, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Operations and Finance. Priorities will evolve with the business, so success will require sound judgment, ownership and the ability to move effectively between immediate supply needs and longer-term sourcing initiatives.\nLocation: Hybrid role based in Lisle IL, or Eden Prairie MN. Remote considered for individuals with 10+ years of precision fiber optic experience.\nOur Team\n\nOur team supports the growth of Molex’s fiber optic and Category 6 (CAT 6) business by building a reliable, competitive, and resilient supply base. We work across Sourcing, Materials, Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Operations, and Finance to solve immediate supply challenges while developing the supplier capabilities and sourcing strategies needed for the future.\n This is an evolving business where priorities can shift quickly based on customer demand, capacity, qualifications, and supply conditions. You will join a collaborative team that values ownership, sound judgment, constructive challenge, and a willingness to step beyond traditional functional boundaries to create value.\n Success in applying Koch’s Performance Based Management philosophy requires an ownership mindset, sound judgment, and the ability to navigate ambiguity, adapt to changing priorities, and determine the best path forward as the business evolves.\n\nWhat You Will Do\nOwn the day-to-day health and continuity of the fiber optic and CAT 6 supply base, including shortages, supplier commitments, capacity constraints, expedites and recovery actions. \nPartner with Engineering and Quality to advance supplier qualifications, testing, technical documentation, approvals and implementation. \nLead requests for quotation (RFQs), supplier evaluations and commercial negotiations involving pricing, lead times, capacity, terms and supply commitments. \nIdentify and address supply, capacity, quality and commercial risks through practical mitigation and recovery plans. \nLead cross-functional sourcing and supplier-development programs, establishing clear priorities, ownership, milestones and fact-based communication.\nQuickly build strong relationships, navigate ambiguity, and implement practical processes with a hands-on approach.\nHelp develop the processes, tools, supplier capabilities, and operating discipline necessary to scale the business.\nContinually reassess priorities and direct effort toward the activities that create the greatest value for the business.\nGlobal travel per business needs, averaging 40%-50%. \n\nWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)\n\nBachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or Economics\n5+ years of experience in sourcing, category management, or supply chain roles.\nExperience in fiber optic cable, optical components, or high-speed connectivity. \nExperience managing suppliers and resolving delivery, capacity, commercial, or operational issues. \nExperience managing both tactical supply requirements and longer-term sourcing strategy or supplier-development initiatives. \nExperience working cross-functionally with functions such as Supply Chain, Engineering, Quality, Operations, or Finance.\n\nWhat Will Put You Ahead\n\n10+ years of experience in sourcing, category management, or supply chain roles.\nExperience with fiber optic cable, Category 6 (CAT 6) cable, copper communication cable, connectivity products, or related materials. \nKnowledge of cable manufacturing, supplier capabilities, cost drivers, capacity, lead times, and supply-chain risks.\nExperience managing shortages, expedites, supplier recovery, capacity commitments, and alternate-source qualifications.\nExperience with supplier qualification and identification. \nExperience with commercial negotiations, cost modeling, benchmarking, or total-cost analysis.\nExperience in a global manufacturing, connectivity, telecommunications, or technology environment.\nThis position is not eligible for VISA Sponsorship. \nIn order to comply with U.S. export control laws and regulations, this position requires applicants to either provide proof of U.S. citizenship or lawful permanent resident status or be eligible to receive an export authorization (a license) under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations and/or the Export AdministrationRegulations.\nFor this role, we anticipate paying $130,000 - $160,000 per year.
