In this role, you will help ensure the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of refinery assets by troubleshooting, maintaining, and calibrating a wide range of instrumentation and control systems across the site.\n\nOur Team\n\nOur Instrumentation Team is responsible for maintaining more than 50,000 field devices and control elements across the refinery, including transmitters, control valves, analyzers, switches, solenoids, controllers, and wireless instrumentation. We are a highly collaborative group of experienced craftspeople and developing technicians who are committed to operational excellence, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing. Whether you are an experienced technician or looking to further develop your expertise, we are invested in helping our employees grow and succeed.\n\nWhat You Will Do\n\nTroubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and calibrate instrumentation and control equipment in operating refinery process units.\nPerform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on instrumentation systems to support safe and reliable operations.\nSupport turnaround activities by identifying scope opportunities, creating work orders, coordinating assigned work activities, and executing instrumentation maintenance tasks.\nCollaborate with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to resolve equipment issues and improve asset reliability.\nMaintain accurate maintenance documentation and ensure work is completed in accordance with site safety and operational procedures.\nWork a 4/10 day-shift schedule (Monday through Thursday) and participate in an after-hours on-call rotation.\n\nPhysical Requirements of the role\n Ability to lift up to 50 pounds (with frequent carrying of up to 25 pounds)\nPhysical ability to frequently stand, walk, lift, carry, push, pull, reach, handle, bend, twist, climb (~200 ft) and balance\nAbility & willingness to utilize Personal Protective Equipment (for example: hard hat, safety glasses, fire retardant clothing, respirator, safety work boots, etc. as required)\nMust be able to adequately hear alarms and other sounds which may indicate a safety concern\nMust be able to communicate hazardous conditions and other dangers\nMust be able to work near moving mechanical parts, work in wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and outdoor weather conditions, work in high, precarious places and work around fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals\nWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)\n\nTwo (2) or more years’ experience in the Instrumentation craft working in a refinery, petrochemical, or process plant environment\nTwo (2) or more years of hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, calibrating, and repairing industrial instrumentation and control devices used in manufacturing or process environments.\nPossess a valid US Driver’s License\n\nWhat Will Put You Ahead\n\nAssociates of applied Science degree or certification in industrial instrumentation or similar\nFive (5) or more years’ experience in the Instrumentation craft working in a refinery, petrochemical, or process plant environment\n\nThis role is subject to a pre-hire physical abilities test.\n\nThis role is subject to the Transportation Workers Identification Credentialing (TWIC) rule and requires the successful candidate to obtain a TWIC identification badge, allowing for un-escorted access to the facility within a specific time period.\nAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
