We have two opportunities available, one at our Lincoln, Nebraska location and one at our Rochester Hills, Michigan location. You will help deliver accurate and timely dimensional measurement results, strengthen measurement capabilities, and improve laboratory performance through technical leadership, standardization, and continuous improvement.\n\nOur Team\nJoin a collaborative Product Development and Quality organization supporting electrical connector systems. Our team partners with engineering, manufacturing, tooling, and quality functions to deliver reliable dimensional data, strengthen technical decision-making, and continuously improve measurement capabilities and laboratory performance.\nWhat You Will Do\nLead daily metrology laboratory operations by establishing priorities, allocating resources, managing capacity, and aligning work with customer and business needs.\nSupervise and provide technical guidance to Metrology Engineers and Technicians while developing team capability through coaching and training.\nLead dimensional measurement strategies and review inspection results using Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), Computed Tomography (CT) scanning, optical measurement systems, vision equipment, and other metrology technologies.\nPartner with Product Engineering, Manufacturing, Tooling, Quality, and Advanced Quality Planning (AQP) teams to solve complex dimensional challenges involving Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), datum alignment, tolerance assessment, and measurement strategy.\nMaintain measurement-system integrity by ensuring laboratory standards and procedures are followed and coordinating calibration, preventive maintenance, equipment qualification, and measurement-system activities.\nDrive laboratory performance by monitoring capacity, backlog, turnaround time, equipment utilization, inspection throughput, and quality metrics and proactively addressing constraints that could affect customer commitments.\nAdvance metrology capabilities through continuous improvement, automation, standardization, digital reporting, and implementation of technologies such as ZEISS Calypso, Volume Graphics metrology and CT analysis tools.\nKey Leadership ResponsibilitiesSet laboratory priorities and align resources with customer and business needs.\nCoach, mentor, and develop metrology personnel to strengthen technical capability.\nIdentify and proactively escalate capacity, quality, and delivery risks.\nEstablish clear expectations and drive accountability, standardization, and continuous improvement across laboratory operations.\nServe as the primary technical and operational point of contact for metrology activities.\nWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, Metrology, or a related technical field.\n5+ years of experience in dimensional metrology, quality engineering, manufacturing engineering, or a related discipline.\n2+ years of experience leading technical teams, projects, or laboratory operations.\nExperience interpreting GD&T and engineering drawings and applying dimensional inspection methods and tolerance analysis.\nExperience with CMM programming and operation and measurement-system practices such as calibration, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Gauge R&R, or measurement traceability.\nWhat Will Put You Ahead\nExperience with ZEISS Calypso, Volume Graphics (VG Metrology), CT analysis software, or similar metrology platforms.\nExperience with CT scanning, optical inspection, vision systems, or 3D scanning technologies.\nKnowledge of Model-Based Definition (MBD), Product Manufacturing Information (PMI), and digital inspection workflows.\nExperience supporting automotive, connector, medical device, aerospace, or advanced manufacturing environments.\nSix Sigma Green Belt certification or comparable process-improvement experience.\nFamiliarity with IATF 16949, ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management systems.\nExperience implementing metrology automation, reporting dashboards, or digital transformation initiatives.\nAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
