You will collaborate with experienced engineers to understand how simulation results translate to part design, tooling design, and the injection molding process. You will gain hands-on experience with injection molding machines and the connector manufacturing process. Along the way, you will develop skills in design for manufacturability, process optimization, problem-solving, and working with a larger manufacturing team.\nOur Team\nYou will be part of the Copper Solutions Business Unit and will report to the Component Engineering Manager. You will work directly with our Predictive Manufacturing and Mold Project engineers. You will also collaborate with our larger manufacturing team, including Product Engineering, Automation, Development Process Engineering.\nWhat You Will Do\nWork with both Moldflow and Moldex 3D injection molding simulation software to analyze plastic components\nLearn how to use simulation results to suggest product and tooling improvements\nUse Siemens NX modelling software to adjust products for optimization\nGain hands-on experience setting up processes with on-site injection molding machines\nWork with a cross-functional team to understand the full connector product lifecycle, from the design phase, through debug, and to the production phase.\nGain experience with conventionally molded, insert molded, and wire overmolded plastic parts, and well as the entire connector assembly.\nLearn to communicate concerns through DFM and improve molding processes\nAnalyze results from Predictive Engineering molding simulation (Moldex and Moldflow) and use NX modelling software.\nWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)\nWorking toward a degree in Plastics Engineering, Plastics Engineering Technology OR\nExperience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)\n3D modelling experience\nEnthusiasm for working with a global manufacturing team\nLooking for an opportunity to jumpstart a simulation career in a hands-on manufacturing environment\nWhat Will Put You Ahead\nExperience with Moldflow or Moldex 3D\nExperience in the plastics injection molding industry, including internships \nFor this role, we anticipate paying $26-28 per hour.\nAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
