Our Process Controls team is focused on improving safety, reliability, and performance through innovative automation and control solutions. In this role, you'll collaborate with experienced engineers and operations partners, contribute to high-impact improvement projects, and help drive continuous innovation in a world-class manufacturing environment.\nWhat You Will Do\nPartner with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to troubleshoot process and control system issues, identify root causes, and implement sustainable solutions.\nLead and support process improvement and capital projects from concept through startup.\nDefine project scope, develop technical requirements, and manage project execution.\nDesign, implement, and support process control systems, instrumentation, and automation solutions.\nRead and interpret P&IDs, loop sheets, electrical drawings, and control system documentation.\nSpecify and procure field instrumentation, analyzers, and control valves for projects of varying size and complexity.\nCollaborate with designers to develop electrical, loop, and I/O drawings.\nManage construction activities, including bid package development, contractor coordination, installation oversight, and field commissioning.\nSupport startup, checkout, and optimization of new and existing control systems.\nDevelop knowledge of advanced process control concepts, control loop tuning, and emerging automation technologies.\nWork with Emerson DeltaV DCS and Valmet QCS platforms to support manufacturing operations and project implementation.\nEffectively communicate technical information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization.\nWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)\nAssociate's Degree, Technical Degree, Vocational Degree, or higher in Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, Engineering, Instrumentation, Automation, or a related field.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.\n\nWhat Will Put You Ahead\nBachelor's Degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\nExperience in pulp and paper manufacturing or other continuous process industries.\nTwo (2) or more years of experience in a process control, automation, instrumentation, or controls engineering role.\nTwo (2) or more years of hands-on experience supporting Emerson DeltaV DCS systems, including configuration, troubleshooting, modifications, and system expansions.\nExperience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus TCP, EtherNet/IP, OPC, or similar technologies.\nKnowledge of process instrumentation, control valve applications, and control loop optimization.\nDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical problems and manage multiple priorities in a manufacturing environment.\nStrong communication, organizational, and project management skills.\nAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
