Your Job

We are looking for an experienced Israeli-based process and qualification engineer to relocate to X-FAB Germany and lead the technical path from installed tools to a certified, high-yield production line. You will work with the local XFAB team to qualify tools and process segments, prove the line is ready for production, match tools to one another, certify the product, and drive yield improvement at each ramp step toward 8,000 optical plate wafers per month. You will workday to day with Molex engineering, X-FAB engineers and operations and tool vendors, and in close coordination with the Molex site engineer responsible for facility, layout and installation.

Our Team

Teramount-Molex is an innovative growth company in the field of silicon photonics packaging, solving one of the key challenges in enabling next-generation co-packaged optics solutions for AI infrastructure, Data Centers, and High-Performance Computing. As part of Molex -a global leader operating in over 40 countries to deliver transformative connectivity solutions across data communications, automotive, industrial, and medical industries-our multidisciplinary team combines optics, packaging, and operational expertise to bring cutting-edge technologies from concept to scalable global production.

What You Will Do

Tool qualification

  • Define qualification plans and acceptance criteria per tool IQ with XFAB engineers, vendors and Molex process engineering.
  • Execute qualification runs, analyse capability data (Cpk, repeatability, uptime) and drive failures to closure.
  • Maintain qualification records and baseline recipes in the tool reference packages.

Segment qualification

  • Qualify each process segment (a group of tools and steps that together deliver a defined module of the flow) against its optical and dimensional targets.
  • Run DOEs and process window studies and set control limits and control plans per segment.
  • Define segment exit criteria monitors and sign-off gates ahead of line certification.

Line readiness for production

  • Build and run a line-readiness checklist covering tools, materials, recipes, SOPs, training, metrology, SPC, MES and spares.
  • Verify operator and technician training and certification on the Molex line at X-FAB.
  • Run pilot lots and mock production, and report readiness status to Molex and X-FAB management.

Tool matching

  • Define matching methodology and acceptance limits for like tools and for tool-to-tool differences within a process step.
  • Run matching studies, analyse tool-to-tool, chamber-to-chamber and lot-to-lot variation, and drive corrective actions.
  • Keep matching status tracked and re-verified after maintenance, tool changes and ramp additions.

Product certification

  • Plan and execute product qualification and customer certification builds, including reliability and environmental tests defined by Molex.
  • Compile and maintain certification documentation, process change control and traceability.
  • Interface with Molex quality and customer teams during audits and certification reviews.

Yield improvement through ramp steps

  • Define yield targets and loss models for each ramp step toward 8,000 wafers per month.
  • Run Pareto, defect and parametric analysis; lead root-cause investigations across tools, process and materials.
  • Drive continuous improvement projects and verify gains hold as volume steps up.
  • Provide data and lessons learned for tool and capacity planning at the next ramp point.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Materials, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, Physics, or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years in process, equipment or qualification engineering in semiconductor, photonics, advanced-packaging or wafer-level optics manufacturing
  • Willingness to relocate for the full assignment and travel as needed [May 2027-May 2028, with option to extend]
  • Proven experience qualifying tools and process modules, and taking a line from pilot to production.
  • Strong statistical skills: DOE, SPC, capability analysis, yield analysis; experience with JMP or equivalent.
  • Experience with FMEA, control plans and change control in a quality-managed environment.
  • Fluent English; Hebrew a plus for coordination with Molex Israel. German is an advantage for working with X-FAB.

What Will Put You Ahead

  • Experience in a foundry or third-party fab, working across customer and host-site teams.
  • Familiarity with MES, equipment-data systems and automated yield reporting.
  • Experience supporting customer audits and product certification.
