This position creates value by providing process control engineering leadership and support for large capital projects. Our typical projects are five million or larger in spend. As a member of the Engineering Team, you will support capital projects across the country. Additionally, you will collaborate with our GP operational support partners to deliver digital expectations for long-term remote support capabilities. This is an excellent opportunity to challenge your technical expertise, organizational skills and leadership to create long term value for our operations partners.\nThis position is home based within the US with travel involved (up to 75%).\nOur Team\n\nThe Projects and Engineering team consists of over 100 individuals across the United States working with our Consumer Products, Building Products and Packaging & Cellulose mills. The team focus is on capital project execution as well as run-ability of current assets. We are engineers and project managers focused on a quality delivery. We partner with our mills as one team, one vision, one result.\n\nWhat You Will Do\nProvide Process Control guidance in alignment with the group vision for large capital projects\nParticipate in the development or selection of standard control technologies for the projects\nProvide technical expertise in support of scope development of capital projects\nAct as the PDL (Project Discipline Lead); provide leadership as the lead engineer\nDevelop/Review scopes, estimates, and schedules for the electrical portions of projects\nDevelop conceptual and detailed engineering and design\nParticipate in bid evaluation and selection\nProject field engineering, including construction, startup, and commissioning support\nTrain operators, supervision, and process control engineering personnel\nProvide leadership for external/internal engineering resources to drive project proposals, completion and engineering standards\nProvide personal development guidance to Process Control Engineering personnel\nProvide guidance in selection of instrument specifications and control valves\nLead or participate in check-out and start-up assistance for new or modified control systems and processes\nProvide forced outage and maintenance outage support\nWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)\n5+ years of work experience in Automation or Process Control\nExperience in Automation or Process Controls working with DCS systems \nExperience in leading automation projects and implementation of project activities\nKnowledge of theoretical and practical aspects of the design, construction, operation, and maintenance of continuous manufacturing\nAble and willing to travel up to 75% of the time (project dependent)\nWhat Will Put You Ahead\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical or Electrical Engineering\nExperience as a Process Control Engineer on capital projects\nLeadership experience in Automation or Process Control\nProficiency in Honeywell Experion and/or Emerson Delta V\nExperience in pulp and paper industry control systems\nFor this role, we anticipate paying $150k - $180k per year.
