In this role, you will lead a team ensuring smooth operation of production software, testing systems, and digital tools that enable the development, manufacturing, and qualification of high-speed electrical interconnects. Your team will work closely with plant engineers, technicians, operators, and the global Software Solutions Group to maintain, troubleshoot, and enhance mission-critical applications.\nSuccess in this role requires strong problem-solving skills, a hands-on mindset, and a passion for supporting manufacturing operations through reliable software tools and engineering workflows.\n\nOur Team\nYou will be part of the Software Solutions Group (SSG)-the core software and digital engineering function within the Copper Solutions Business Unit (CSBU) under the Datacom & Specialty Solutions (DSS) division. As the core software team, we collaborate across the organization to deliver production setup applications for product families and stand-alone tools that address challenges in every area of the business.\nThe SSG collaborates across global engineering, testing, and manufacturing teams to deliver production-ready software, plant-floor applications, and engineering tools that support all areas of the business.\n\nWhat You Will Do\nLead, mentor, and develop a team responsible for supporting Python-based desktop and manufacturing software used across Molex plants. \nOversee and prioritize troubleshooting for production test stations, automation software, data acquisition, and validation workflows, ensuring rapid response and minimizing downtime. \nEnsure the team effectively addresses software bugs, user issues, and plant-floor disruptions while coordinating escalations with SSG engineering. \nExtend existing tools and build new features for plant users-prioritizing usability, performance, and maintainability-while following SSG development practices including code reviews and verification/validation. \nSupport deployment, testing, and verification of new software features or releases on the plant floor. \nWork with electrical, mechanical, and signal-integrity engineers to support test system stability and ensure accurate data collection. \nDocument troubleshooting steps, maintain support logs, and communicate recurring issues to SSG for larger enhancements. \nConduct basic code reviews, functional testing, and validation checks when rolling out updates. \nAnalyze test results and collaborate on implementing software improvements to enhance reliability and production efficiency. \nContribute feedback from plant users to help shape the development of scalable tools and future improvements. \n\nWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or related field. \n2-5+ years of experience supporting engineering or manufacturing environments, including exposure to test systems or production software. \nPractical experience with Python, including the ability to understand, maintain, and modify scripted tools or applications. \nFamiliarity with software architecture principles related to usability, reliability, and maintainability. \nFluency in English & Mandarin \nNatural Leader with sense of ownership and accountability \nExperience with Git, SVN, or other source control tools. \nUnderstanding of standard software verification and validation practices. \nStrong communication skills and ability to clearly explain technical information to diverse teams. \nAnalytical problem-solving skills, including the ability to test assumptions, interpret results, and recommend corrective actions. \nHigh proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for documentation and reporting.\n\nWhat Will Put You Ahead\nExperience supporting manufacturing test equipment, electrical interconnects, or automated test systems. \nDemonstrated experience leading technical teams. \nExposure to creating or executing test cases and validation procedures. \nFamiliarity with scientific Python tools (NumPy, Pandas, Anaconda). \nAbility to develop reusable scripts, libraries, or utilities that support engineering tasks. \nHands-on experience in a plant or production support role, especially in electronics, testing, or quality assurance environments. \nAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
