The Structural Engineer will be responsible for performing structural design for industrial projects for gravity, lateral and equipment loading and assist in the preparation of construction documents. This position will require the ideal candidate to possess knowledge of building codes, construction materials, industry standards and analytical software such as RAM Elements. The Structural Engineer will perform site visits and work closely with Georgia Pacific project team, project managers and construction teams to ensure successful project completion.\nThis would be a Hybrid role with at least 2 days at the Atlanta or Green Bay headquarters weekly.\nWhat You Will Do\nPrepare, coordinate, and monitor the assigned engineering projects.\nEnsure compliance with applicable codes, rules, industry practices and GP standards.\nConduct on-site investigations, assessments, and field measurements.\nDevelop engineering calculations to support the design and work with modelers and drafters for production of drawings.\nCollaborate daily and communicate effectively with the project managers and other project participants.\nConstruction administration.\nProvide SME (Subject Matter Expert) reviews.\nAssign responsibilities and mentor the project team.\nWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)\nBachelor’s degree or higher in Civil Engineering with focus on Structural Engineering.\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering.\nDemonstrated experience in a structural engineering role.\nStrong analytical skills with attention to detail.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nDeep knowledge of construction materials and methodologies.\nProblem-solving skills to quickly address issues that arise on-site and keep projects on track.\nKnowledge of design and visualization software such as RAM Structural Systems, RAM Elements, RAM Connections, Enercalc, MS Office, AutoCAD, and REVIT.\nCurrent Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer license\nAble and willing to travel to manufacturing sites up to 40% of the time (dependent on project needs)\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nMinimum of 15 years of experience in structural engineering.\nExperience within an Industrial Manufacturing Environment.\nFamiliarity with industrial applications.\nKnowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD and REVIT.\nAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
