You will coordinate the design process, guide team activities and help move products from concept through volume production while meeting customer, regulatory, quality, cost and schedule requirements.\nOur Team\nThe Design Engineering team works across product engineering, project management, manufacturing, quality, sourcing, supply chain, sales and marketing. The role supervises a team of 5 to 10 engineers and collaborates globally with customers, suppliers and vendors on technical matters, including complex, sensitive and confidential discussions. The team drives design, 3D modeling, 2D drawings, engineering changes, technical documentation and product testing in alignment with internal product development procedures and ISO/QS requirements.\nWhat You Will Do\nLead engineers working on new product design, product modification and sustenance projects from concept development through volume production. \nPartner with manufacturing and quality engineering to develop manufacturing processes using 3D CAD modeling, design-for-manufacturing practices and quality tools. \nProvide technical support to customers, suppliers and product marketing stakeholders. \nCollaborate with engineering and project management stakeholders to meet product performance, quality, cost and timing requirements. \nWork globally with sourcing teams and vendors to bring products into production. \nPerform verification activities to confirm designs meet customer specifications, regulatory requirements and environmental test requirements. \nReview engineering, manufacturing and sales drawings for completeness and accuracy. \nDrive engineering execution across design, 3D modeling, 2D drawings, engineering changes, technical documents and product testing. \nDevelop a team culture and working practices aligned with MBM guiding principles. \nOwn team training, capability building and career development.\n\nWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)\nBachelor's/Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10 years of experience. \nAt least 5 years of product design in managing a team. \nExperience involving connector & cable assemblies for interconnect application. \nExperience in product design involving electromechanical assemblies or components. \nExperience in product design aspects like DFM, DFMEA, Tolerance Stacks, FEA etc. \nExperience designing plastic, die-cast and sheet-metal components for cable assemblies. \nStrong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving techniques. \nProven track record of handling a team of product design engineers. \nProficiency in solid-modeling software to create 3D models and 2D drawings. \nAnalytical ability to apply logical reasoning, test assumptions, observe results and make corrections. \nStrong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and concisely.\nWhat Will Put You Ahead\nEducation or additional learning in product design and manufacturing. \nInterconnect product design experience involving connector & cable assemblies \n10+ years of product design experience. \nDemonstrated ability to lead and support a team of engineers. \nStrong knowledge of plastic, die-casting, sheet-metal and machined component design and related manufacturing processes. \nProficiency in finite element analysis or related software for failure analysis. \nExperience with Material Master or bill-of-material loading software. \nProficiency in Siemens NX 11 and PLM/PDM systems. \nAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
