The successful candidate will have leadership responsibility for the safe and environmentally compliant operation of black liquor recovery boilers, bark boiler, natural gas boilers, evaporators, turbines, compressed air, and feedwater systems. While working 12-hour rotating shifts this individual will work closely with manufacturing engineers, maintenance planners, craftspeople, engineering managers, operations personnel, and contractors.\nOur Team\nThe Georgia-Pacific Brunswick, Ga facility is one of the most diverse cellulose producers in the market. Brunswick Mill manufactures various grades of specialty pulp that is used in LED displays, coatings, plastics, currency papers, construction, pharmaceuticals, food additivities, thickeners, and filter applications.\nWhat You Will Do\nFoster a culture where employees proactively identify and address risks, hazards, and unsafe behaviors while encouraging suggestions for continuous improvement.\nEnsure compliance with corporate policies and industry best practices in the operation and maintenance of recovery and power boilers, turbines, steam, and power distribution systems.\nMotivate and develop both salaried and hourly employees to enhance department performance and business management continuously.\nProvide direct supervision and leadership to achieve excellence in safety and environmental compliance.\nDevelop and lead strategies to optimize the utilities department's capabilities, tracking performance against established goals.\nCollaborate with area maintenance leadership to ensure strategic operating plans are executed efficiently and reliability issues are promptly addressed using root cause analysis tools.\nEvaluate and eliminate quality and production bottlenecks, leading plans to enhance capability and competitive positioning.\nIdentify and remove waste and non-value-added costs to improve the mill's competitive position, effectively managing chemical inventories in communication with procurement.\nBuild and maintain effective working relationships across departments, leaders, and a union hourly workforce to meet and exceed key performance indicators in safety, reliability, and cost.\nLead and participate in continuous improvement efforts, applying reliability concepts and critical thinking skills to troubleshoot and solve complex operational issues.\nWho You Are (Basic Qualifications)\nLeadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.\nExperience with maintenance strategies, including AMWP, and preventive and reliability-centered maintenance.\nExperience with leading continuous improvement efforts.\nExperience working with utilities systems, including black liquor recovery boilers, black liquor evaporators, bark boiler, natural gas boilers, turbines, and feedwater systems.\nWhat Will Put You Ahead\nBackground in the pulp and paper industry.\nExperience in managing and conducting audits.\nPresent or prior Experience in a Utilities department that fosters PBM and AMWP principles.\nAt Koch companies, we are entrepreneurs.
