In this role, you will design and build features across our backend services and user-facing applications, collaborating closely with product, design, and other engineering teams. You will balance strong technical execution with ownership, craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of how customers interact with the product.\nAbout the role\nYou’ll design and develop robust backend services that ingest, process, and correlate large-scale security and cloud data.\nYou’ll build intuitive, performant web experiences using modern frontend technologies, helping customers explore complex data with clarity.\nYou’ll collaborate with designers and product managers to translate ideas and workflows into thoughtful, scalable product features.\nYou’ll architect cross-service integrations, data flows, and APIs to support both customer-facing and internal features.\nYou’ll ensure frontend and backend components are secure, resilient, and optimized for high-scale production usage.\nYou’ll participate in design reviews, cross-team technical discussions, and efforts to continuously improve engineering velocity.\nAs part of a fast-paced startup, you’ll have a direct impact on product direction and how customers use Kodem to solve real-world security challenges.\nMust have qualifications\n5+ years of professional software development experience.\nStrong experience with both backend development (Python/Node.js/Go) and modern frontend frameworks (React, Vue, or similar).\nExperience developing cloud-native applications on AWS, GCP, or Azure.\nExperience building distributed systems using technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, Amazon SQS, or similar.\nAbility to design and consume RESTful APIs and work with modern build pipelines.\nPreferred background\nExperience building complex dashboards, data visualizations, or interactive UX.\nExperience with TypeScript and modern frontend tooling.\nKnowledge of cloud internals (AWS, Azure, GCP).\nFamiliarity with the cybersecurity domain.\nB.Sc. in Computer Science or equivalent experience (including military).\nKodem Security is an equal-opportunity employer.
