You'll balance customer demand, labor capacity, material availability, and project milestones to ensure fabrication work is completed on time and ready for field installation.\nWorking closely with Shop Operations, Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, Virtual Design & Construction (VDC), Inventory Planning, and Field Operations, you'll play a critical role in keeping manufacturing and construction projects on schedule.\nWhat You'll Do\nOwn and manage the Manufacturing Production Scheduling System (MPSS) for all active fabrication work orders and projects.\nDevelop production schedules that align customer demand with labor capacity and manufacturing constraints.\nPrioritize fabrication work based on customer commitments, project milestones, material availability, labor resources, and field installation schedules.\nContinuously adjust production schedules to accommodate engineering revisions, material shortages, labor constraints, and changing project priorities.\nDevelop labor and capacity planning models to identify bottlenecks, production constraints, and scheduling risks.\nRecommend solutions including resequencing work, overtime, subcontracting, or schedule adjustments.\nServe as the primary source of truth for manufacturing schedules and production capacity.\nCoordinate with Shop Operations, Fabrication Planners, Inventory Planners, Procurement, Engineering, VDC, Project Managers, and Field Teams.\nParticipate in production planning meetings and project look-ahead meetings.\nEnsure fabrication sequencing supports installation schedules and project milestones.\nBuild and maintain advanced Excel planning tools, dashboards, labor models, and capacity reports.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives that improve schedule accuracy, production flow, and manufacturing efficiency.\nQualifications\nRequired\n3+ years of experience as a Production Planner, Master Scheduler, Production Scheduler, Manufacturing Planner, Capacity Planner, or Production Control Specialist.\nStrong understanding of manufacturing, fabrication, or industrial production workflows.\nAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills including:\nPivot Tables\nCapacity Modeling\nLabor Planning\nDashboards\nScenario Analysis\nForecasting\nExperience balancing production schedules, labor capacity, and manufacturing constraints.\nExcellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to make scheduling decisions with incomplete or changing information.\nStrong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments.\nPreferred\nBachelor's Degree in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.\nExperience in sheet metal fabrication, pipe fabrication, mechanical construction, or industrial manufacturing.\nExperience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement.\nExperience supporting made-to-order manufacturing environments.\nWhy Kodiak?\nAt Kodiak, you'll play a key role in supporting one of the Mid-Atlantic's premier mechanical contractors.
