You will become our internal subject matter expert within machine safety and compliance, ensuring that safety requirements are effectively integrated into projects and business processes.\nYour Role:\nAs Senior Safety & Compliance Engineer, you will be responsible for driving machine safety and compliance activities throughout the project lifecycle, from concept and design to commissioning and customer acceptance.\nYou will work closely with Engineering, Project Management, Commissioning, Service teams, customers, and external stakeholders to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and industry standards.\nKey responsibilities include:\nConducting risk assessments and hazard analyses\nDeveloping safety concepts and Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS)\nSupporting design reviews, FATs, SATs, commissioning, and customer acceptance\nEnsuring compliance with European and international standards\nDriving continuous improvement initiatives within machine safety and compliance\nActing as the go-to expert for safety-related questions across the organization\nThe position includes approximately 15-20 travel days per year, primarily related to customer meetings, project activities, factory and site acceptance testing, and commissioning support.\nProfessional Competencies\nWe expect you to have solid experience within:\nCE marking and conformity assessment of machinery and automated systems\nRisk assessments according to EN ISO 12100\nFunctional safety according to EN ISO 13849 and IEC 62061\nDevelopment of Safety Requirement Specifications (SRS)\nValidation and verification of safety-related control systems\nSafety PLC solutions and safety architectures\nTechnical documentation, declarations of conformity, and technical files\nMachine safety for automation, robotics, and material handling equipment\nMachinery lifecycle compliance requirements\nExperience with TÜV Functional Safety Engineer, TÜV Machinery Safety Expert, CMSE, or similar certifications is considered an advantage.\nKnowledge of the EU Machinery Regulation (EU 2023/1230), IEC 62443, and related machine safety or automation certifications is highly valued. As an increasing number of our projects are delivered to North America, experience with U.S. regulations and standards is highly desirable, including OSHA requirements, NFPA 79, ANSI B11 standards, UL standards and certified components, North American approval, documentation, and customer acceptance processes. Experience working with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) is also an advantage.\nYour Profile\nYou hold a degree in Engineering, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field, combined with at least 5-10 years of experience within machine safety, functional safety, or compliance engineering.\nYou combine strong technical expertise with the credibility and confidence to influence decisions across a complex project organization.
