In this role, you will design and implement simulation and digital twin solutions for industrial machines and material handling systems, enabling the development, validation, and optimization of innovative automation technologies before deployment in real-world environments.\nYour role:\nDevelop and implement end-to-end simulation and digital twin models for conveyors, industrial machines, and material handling systems.\nDesign and maintain software-in-the-loop environments for validation, testing, and behavior design of automation solutions.\nCreate and test simulation assets that model machine behavior, sensors, actuators, and industrial process flows.\nIntegrate simulation and digital twin solutions into development workflows to support efficient sim-to-real deployment.\nResearch and evaluate emerging technologies within simulation, digital twins, physics-based modeling, and virtual commissioning.\nCollaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams across software engineering, machine control, robotics, system architecture, and mechatronics.\nSupport validation, optimization, and continuous improvement of simulation models to ensure accurate representation of real-world systems.\nContribute to the development of next-generation Physical AI and autonomous systems solutions.\nYour profile:\nMaster's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Simulation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.\n4+ years of experience developing simulation software, digital twins, software-in-the-loop environments, or physics-based system modeling.\nExperience developing simulations based on existing hardware and machine systems.\nAbility to create realistic models of physical behavior and system interactions, while choosing an appropriate level of modelling detail.\nExperience with physics-based, real-time, or system-level simulation.\nExperience with NVIDIA Isaac Sim, Isaac Lab, Gazebo, MuJoCo, or similar is considered an advantage.\nHands-on programming skills in Python and C++.\nKnowledge of machine control architectures, industrial communication systems, and real-time interfaces is considered an advantage.\nStrong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a structured way of working.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in international and cross-functional teams.\nFluent English skills, both written and spoken.\nWillingness to travel occasionally (10%) for collaboration with international teams, partners, and customers.\nYour working environment at Körber:\nAt the heart of every solution, every success, is a team of dedicated professionals willing to help each other while bringing creativity and energy to every project.
