With over $2.8 billion in annual sales and a commitment to its workforce, Kokosing is the winning team.\nJob Description:\nWe are seeking Carpenters (Heavy Highway - Roadway/Bridge projects) with experience in form work for bridges/structures to work on bridge/heavy highway projects in:\nWallops Island, VA\nSUMMARY\nConstructs, erects, and repairs structures; must have own hand tools.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.\nMust be able to work while tied off to fall protection;\nSkilled in use of necessary hand and power tools;\nMust be able to work with level;\nStudies and understands blueprints, sketches, or bridge plans for information pertaining to type of material required;\nSelects specified type of lumber or other materials;\nPrepares layout;\nMeasures boards, timbers, or plywood, and marks cutting lines on materials;\nShapes materials to prescribed measurements;\nNails cleats (braces) across boards to construct concrete-supporting forms;\nBraces forms in place with timbers, tie rods, and anchor bolts, for use in building concrete piers, footing, and walls;\nAssembles cut and shaped materials and fastens them together with nails, dowel pins, or glue;\nSets expansion dams;\nAssemble or run overhang modules or stick built overhangs;\nClimb wingwalls, retaining walls;\nAssemble wood deck forms;\nConstructs forms and chutes for pouring concrete;\nAssists in pouring and finishing of concrete;\nErects scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, occasionally loud.\nExpected base pay range for this position is: $29 - $34/hr based on region.\nThis compensation range is specific to the job level and takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to: education, experience, licensure, certifications, geographic location, and internal equity. The range has been created in good faith based on information known to Kokosing at the time of the posting. Compensation decisions are dependent on the circumstances of each case.
